Exclamation 2012 2LS Fog Light Help!!!

Im finally a member to the forums! Since I bought my 2012 Camaro 2LS last October, these posts/threads here have helped me beyond imagination in making my car truly mine. I need some help with the front right fog light wiring. It worked fine until recently it went out. I reached the fog light with minimal difficulty. I wanted find out what kind bulb size would fit and came across something quite unusual. It seems that the bulb itself was being held in place by some sort of black gum-like substance. Also not exactly sure what kind of bulb this is, Haven’t seen a setup like this anywhere. Any tips or suggestions are appreciated!

Well it's not a fog light bulb that's for sure . This is what I installed in my LS . http://www.gen5diy.com/Chevrolet/Cam...d-foglamp-kit/ .

Love the fog lights you have installed. Im looking more for a solution that would not really require me to buy an entire kit for $170. Anyone able to help identify what sort of wiring harness would help me here if needed?

Try these if you have factory sockets. If not them may have the sockets too.

Looks like the previous owner hacked in a 194 light socket. My guess is the spliced wires are wrapped in that electrical tape. I'd buy the correct bulb socket and pig tail, rewire it and use the correct bulbs for your fog lamp housings.

Yep! Looks like a wiring hack job.

I tried to find the harness only on Gen 5 DIY but as much as I hate to say it... their search engine SUCKS!!! Camaro Fog light wiring shouldn't return 64 pages to over 500 products most of them being Mustang parts... lol

From what I can tell they don't sell the harness only .

OP as the others have said it looks like the previous owner did a hack job . That was why I posted the link . Good luck . Can you post pictures of the front and backside of the foglight to see what you are working with?

We got the kit like you, just remembered they had the harness thought about doing it that way was just simpler to get the entire kit than piece it together. Works great

Instead of looking for the proper harness, try doing a search for the proper GM connector/socket for the light. Just a though ... good luck
