Simple fix, and it was caught early so they fixed in on the assembly line allready.

I wonder if it was bumlebs car that sparked them looking into it... i cant say it was caught early if the cars are shipped and at dealers already

How many where doubting Bumbels problem....

GM is catching and fixing, which is new to them. Normally, they let the feds call a recall. Toyota claims that they have never had a mandatory fed recall, and they train their sales people to tell prospective buyers that they have never had a recall... if you call them on it, they explain that they have been voluntary...

I'm kind of glad my car won't be produced until september. Hopefully I'll get a first model year without first model hiccups. Although I wouldn't mind a few trips to the dealer to have my car now. Thanks to all the members for sharing their issues they are having with us. We all appreciate it.

The quick response from GM is encouraging,
I said earlier that they'd be all over this as it was a potential fire issue, (if one or two were to have caught on fire the press would have a field day).

Not taking any chances by flat-bedding back to the shop for the fix is probably prudent on their part, though it's going to be very embarrassing as your neighbors see your baby being towed away so most I suspect will just drive to the shop,

Looks like a pretty easy fix, shouldn't take to long to get it all done!

I was wondering the same thing...

Was this officially stated anywhere? I skimmed through the bulletin, but it just seems to talk about what the customer and dealer need to do. It says that dealers are required to fix it before delivering any unsold cars, but I didn't see a mention of the assembly line being updated. Did I miss it somewhere? Or will the dealers have to do this to every single new Camaro they receive? That would be annoying, haha...

Thanks

Nice to see GM taking action so quickly. They know they're in a rough spot right now, and want to stay in business.

Not true... the Corvette battery is under the hood, passenger side firewall. Not sure where catmaster got this idea from. None of the other Corvettes we've owned had it in the trunk, C2, C4, C5, C6.
