I think the lt4 (650hp) with a 8spd auto and a diet would put it faster than both. But just to be sure take it up to 700 even and blow their doors off.

Lol 650 and a small diet would be sweet and anything more might just be king of pony cars and not just good at one thing.

I'm with you. Just shows you how much I'm off on the Zl1. I bought my Z in Aug. Nice and hot, so the tires got nice and sticky. I thought the Goodyears were good tires. Whoa, now it's 40 degrees and these tires don't stick for nothing. I drove 60 miles today and I was still getting squirley. I'll def be looking for different tires when these go bad.

The problem with my turbos is that they were never designed to run in just turbo mode, they were designed to run with a supercharger on the car also. They have huge housings and deliver tons of boost at high rpm, they are seamless if the supercharger is on the car to spool them up...... that was the original plan, but it did not pan out. No matter what we did you just could not push 22 pounds of boost through the supercharger coolant bricks. If the housings were redesigned and wastegates and springs were set-up to run turbo only it would have a lot broader and more liner power band. But no matter what you do to a turbo it does not have the low end torque below 3000 rpm that you get with a supercharger.

Rather than completely rebuilding my turbo system I plan on rebuilding the supercharger bricks and adding huge bypass ports, this will allow the car to run exactly like a supercharged car to say 3800 rpm and then it will transition to the turbos and bypass the supercharger on the top of the powerband. At least that is the theory. I'm still several months away from this... There are still a lot of little things to work out. My car is at ADM again.

Thought I'd revive this and see what happens since a few video's have surfaced with ZL1's and hellcats lol.

Too much money, too much sex, and too much horsepower. These are things that do NOT exist! Like unicorns and dragons. Something we all want to see but never will.

Nothing will change until the next series of reviews hopefully involving Randy Pobst and the same track and we will see some numbers and opinions worthwhile.

Yes - 2016 ZL1 needs more HP
Similar to Dodge Hellcat 700 HP from factory
Twin screw supercharger and other improvements

I wouldn't think it would need quite that to compete with gt5 and hellcat.
