Then LSX race motor by HKE with D1SC at 758whp(this was really fun but my motor was way undertasked!)

After all that my car is almost done with a custom twin turbo setup and will easily be 1100whp at moderate 20psi boost.

Do yourself a favor.....AGP twin turbo kit. This will alllow you all the room you need to grow in the futrue. 600whp easily now and up to 1000whp with proper fueling later.....but you gotta mod everything else when above 750ish.

Learn from those who have gone before you!

Its your choice though...good luck!
You forgot to add above 750ish add $75000.

Budget

Like most of us here, I ONLY wanted 550rwhp or so. I'm well north of that now and still mod'ing the crap out of my car to get more.

If you can "return" the Maggie, go for it. It is much easier to make power with a centrifugal blower or twin turbo setup. Where you haven't purchased headers or a cam yet, I'd go TT in a heartbeat, and I'm a Maggie owner!

If...... no, when you decide you want more power, and you will, TT's are the easiest way to get there and are by far the easiest on the rest of the drivetrain.

Just make damn sure you get a reputable TT kit and not some her today and gone in 15 minutes shop kit!

Go through and do a search on Twin Turbo kits on this forum. Unless the threads were deleted, you will find a TON of info on who to seriously look at and who to stay the hell away from.

If you go TT, make sure everything is wrapped and you either add hex vents or buy a vented hood to get the heat out.

Fuel is one area you don't want to cheap out on, it along with a proper tune will be the key to engine life. I went with the ADM kit and ID850's, a Squash fuel system would be ideal, but expensive. A cam and LT headers with a full performance exhaust really wake these cars up. I was using the Texas Speed Products 231/236 stick prior to the Whipple. With the cam don't forget a trunion upgrade kit, and I'd recommend a set of Brian Tooley springs. I had a set of PRC springs and one failed after only 8k miles. Clutch is next on my list, at 650rwhp, I don't want to have to baby it with the stock unit.

If it's mainly a street car, I would keep the S/C. The S/C will wake it up and makes it a nice street car. Look at my sig for the mods I have done. Some maybe aren't needed, but I felt it would be safer with them.

546/rwhp and 522/rwtq will make your Camaro come alive.

I have done all the work myself except the dyno tune and spent $16,000 on it. That includes cosmetic modes also.

Or for less than you spent on just power mods he can make 700rwhp, more torque, and have a car that drives ridiculous well. No need to quantify "Street car" because turbos excel at that.

For under 700rwhp I would keep the maggie or get an AGP turbo kit.

Looking forward to it Fran!

I want to wait until it is on my car before I start saying anything about the AGP kit. But wow, so many fans. My only worry is an uncontrollable car. I may need to relearn how to drive. The Goodyears on my car are like driving on ice unless they are warm. Maybe the AGP kit will help me wear them out so I can upgrade.

On the clutch side, I have the separate reservoir. If I do not give the clutch time to cool down between runs I do sometimes get floor sticking and slipping. Even with only 400 RWHP. I have heard about the Tick line which may help.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I've finally made the decision to keep the Maggie, add 1 7/8" headers with high flow cats, and a 3.3 pulley. I also think I'm going to put a cog drive on for the whine. With this setup and a good tune what are your power estimates? Thanks again!

Life begins when you finally make the decision to just run DR's all the time Yep, they wear out 2 or 3x faster than good street tires. Oh well

I would skip the cats because they will probably just melt, and look at adding a super tensioner to avoid belt slip. Probably get you to upper 500s.

Great thanks. Looking to get close to 600. I'll remove cats from the setup. Can you recommend a tensioner to use?

ECS has them I believe, or JRE. What injectors do you have? May run out of fuel when you get close to 600.
