Sh!t, man....glad you're ok and I sure hope they total it out. I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want to have that fixed. I could see problems down the road...lower resale value, etc.

Walking away from any accident and going home to see your loved ones is the goal that every auto maker tries to do. Regardless who is at fault.

Its sad seeing something like this, but.

Cars can be replaced.

if you have paperwork on what you payed for your aftermarket parts, give them to you insurance, they will pay for them most of the time. I wonder what insurance will want for a buy back on it. might be worth a part out.

I am actually at fault. I just drove from California to Tennessee this week and today was my first full day out here. long story short I was just exhausted and made a bonehead mistake. I was going into the left turn lane and the light had just turned green. the two cars ahead of me turned left no issue with traffic seemingly not far away so I followed assuming we had a left turn arrow and not really thinking. as i started to turn I looked left to wear i was turning because i had thought i saw a divider, did not at any moment in time occur to me that I was turning into oncoming traffic. half way into my turn i hear someone laying on their horn. i look right out the passenger window and all i see is a flash of his front grill (he was driving a toyota tacoma) and then next think you know I'm almost completely flipped around and my car slid about 20 feet. extremely lucky to be able to walk away from this. Im shocked that only me knee is banged up. For sure one of the scariest if not the scariest moments in my life.

Other driver walked away fine as well. said his neck was stiff but nothing bad thankfully. Thanks for the love everyone. and yes it is just a car, still sad to see it like this. I am hoping it is totaled because as someone stated above, i can see issues in the future if its repaired. hopefully will be able to end up in something similar to the camaro though. first things first though haha gotta worry about what car to get after its determined its a total loss and how much they give me for it.

Damn sorry to hear that but at least you're taking responsibility. It shall be replaced and you'll be back on the road in no time! Thank God no one was seriously injured.

Wow. Saw this happen about 15 years ago, 20 feet from me. Woman made the same mistake and was hit t-bone by a '90s Mustangs that was going about 40mph.

Mustang put the passenger side of the car about 2 feet into the cabin. Mustang flipped once, rolled twice, and knocked over a telephone pole, landing on its wheels. Driver was ambulatory. I was first on scene with the other car. Woman was DRT. No side curtain airbags, no front airbags, nothing. In that case, the road was notoriously dangerous for that sort of thing and the traffic pattern was changed in a few weeks.

OP, you are lucky that new cars are so good. Glad you're not seriously hurt. You might want to look into that intersection you were in and see if that is a well known dangerous intersection. Might not be as much of your fault as you think.

I totaled my company-car, Ford Taurus last year. In a testament to modern day cars and their energy absorbing qualities, I learned that these things really can save you life. The entire front end of mine crumpled and it moved the engine but I felt virtually nothing at impact. And had no residual issues either. (unlike the car!)

Hate to see anyone's pride and joy all jacked up but count thy blessings, neighbor.
