WOW!!!!!!!!!! Was just watching the news, Ford is laying off 900 in one of their plants due to the competition of the Camaro.

Well, that sucks. It's never a good thing to see people laid off.
I don't regret the success of the Camaro, though. A lot of people kept their jobs, and were employed to meet the demand of the Camaro and Impala in Oshawa.

As much as I love the Camaro, it is sad to see something like this happen. The economy is so screwed up, it's ashamed to still seeing people being laid off by the hundreds.

Never good to lose jobs anywhere, Fremont CA is going to lose the Toyota (former Numi) plant, 4500 jobs lost that won't be coming back. Good for GM though...

I never like to see anyone get their pinkslips , regardless if its one of the big three . I hope they land another job within the Ford system .

It's easy to make the Camaro a villian here. Remember that the plant in Flat Rock that builds the Mustangs also builds the Mazda 6. How come they didn't mention that. Since the Mazda 6 doesn't compete with the Camaro then who is the reason that the Mazda 6 sales are down.

The Camaro played a hand I'm sure. But it isn't R&D from Ford that is hurting the Stang. It's still an awesome car and gonna give some Camaro drivers fits on the street stock.

atleast they're only getting laid off and not let go. They'll all get unemployment until production picks up again....if it ever does

It will. the 2011 MY is just around the corner and it's ganna be a big upgrade from the ones right now. Plus, Camaro madness will die down too. I see the Camaro outselling the Stang still but not like it has been.
