Drunk driver totaled my zl1.

Okay so needless to say I got hit on the right side of my car. The insurance totaled it saying there is subframe damage I will upload all the pictures. Is this worth buying back? And letting an actually very reputable shop fix it. All opinions welcome.

How much to buy back? How much are They paying you? Do you still have a bank loan?

They gave me $40,000 with my gap so it’s oaid off $4,000 to buy it back and around $10,000 to fix it.

Maybe I'm unfamiliar with how/why insurance companies total cars, but if it's only $10K to fix it, why would they total it and pay out $40K? And if it's really only $10K for repairs, why would they sell it for $4K? Surely even the motor would fetch more than that. Numbers seem odd or I am just missing something.

The classic collision in Johns Creek GA they are a select service for State Farm. Well he totaled it off of the best subframe only. And they cleared it Bc there is no way in hell that is $35,000 in damages

I would not even have to think if they offered it back @$4000. You could part it out and get $10000 or maybe more.

Yes buy it back if $4k. Reasons they total them are because if the frame is damaged that badly they usually have things keep adding up to make a perfect repair. For example some gremlin in the wiring harness could take thousands to repair and multi repair shop attempts.
You can knock off about 1/3 of the car's value with a salvage branded title after repairs.
The OP could buy it back and repair it if he knows a good shop and have an imperfect but fun daily driver with not much investment. Or don't touch it and resell it for at least $8k. Or repair it and sell it for $20+k.

Buy it back talk to couple of body men then decide what your best option is. If you decide to sell you should be able to get at least 15k for that.

This is my baby I can’t give it away to salvage no way. I’ve heard of some very reputable shops who can fix bent frames almost as good as new

I like the idea, but my understanding is once they total it... Isn't it like next to impossible to insure a totaled car?
