How can I get a job for GM ?

Its not looking good folks. 2100 miles with little cycling (mostly down) and I think I have the rub mark on both sides (raining today so its hard to see if it disappearing).

But shhhh, I haven't told the wife yet

Put the top down this afternoon for a quick drive to the store. Put it back up when I got home and the top separated from the anchor above the back side window again. Good thing its going back in this week for the tape to get re-done. I am now questioning if these anchors can be fixed on this replacement top ??? Anybody else have these anchors fixed after a top replacement ???
Disappointed to say the least.:(

My installer got the passenger side in just fine but the drivers side popped out once on him. He said the channel on it is to small to either snap or slide in. I have only cycled the new top once and it didn't pop out. I did notice more wind noise from the passenger side rear than was there originally.

You are not paranoid. I would rather have a little more noise than holes in the top. Then again, it should be like it was when we bought them. Time will tell. I cycled the top twice today in 100 miles of driving. 1st time there was a little rubbing but once I washed it they were gone. I noticed the drivers side has a little wrinkle behind the rear window. Washed it real good and the interior stayed dry so that is a good sign. Time will tell. Supposed to be 80 all week here in the Twin Cities so I should have a good gauge by next weekend on how the top is holding up.

Here is what I got from Customer Service

The reason I am contacting you is to find out what, if any, fix GM has come up for this problem? It seems replacing the top has been more problematic for forum members than the original problem.

Any direction or insight would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

Unfortunately Matt I am not at liberty to discuss these fixes. The fixes outlined on the TSBs are for the mechanics at the dealerships only. I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance to you in this situation.

Convertable I ssues

I have submitted a complaint to GM Customer Service. Its ironic on how the CSRs are just reading what the Dealership has to say. Verbatim from my service invoice. Im wondering what he says on Tuesday. Im expecting the same BS.
I have won a Lemon buyback and GM wants you to go the lemon law route. The odds are in their favor and you will have to earn a buy back or replacement of the vehicle.
Im gonna go thru the motions and start the process.
Ill keep you posted.

No, drive it and if you love it, be prepared to deal with top problems. I've had none so far. Kind of like getting married.

I've got a 2011 vert and have had no major problems with it. It was built May 2011. If you want to be sure, test drive the actual car you are plannning to buy with top down for a good half hour at least. Then close it and look carefully at the top for any marks. If you see any wear or pinch marks, photograph them and post here. We'll tell you what to expect based on the pics.

The ones built before May 2011 are having the worst problems.

Go for it!

Not true. My 2012 was born 7/26 and I had a new top after 6 weeks of ownership. Drop that top and put a good 50 miles with the top down. The put it back up. If there is any indication of a rub or pinch steer clear of buying it. If you do, be prepared to get a new top.
