I'm in the middle of a breakdown now! My wife keeps hiding the razor blades but I know there is a bottle of valium around here somewhere

Unfortunately yes... filed on Friday, GM called Monday. Officially signed the complaint Monday, GMs fix offered today (Wed.)

Everything still remains to be seen, but I'm very hopeful this works... it really lifted my spirits to get that call today, like Birdible said, hell to pay if it falls thru!

Best of luck to you guys. I've heard several times "finally a fix" but hopefully this is the real thing! 'Verts look killer, I think GM did a great job with the looks of the top, hopefully the problems will finally be resolved!

So do we know if the "fix" involves a new top or modification to an existing top?

Not entirely sure... I requested a "new top and all associated mechanisms" and went on to explain my fear of putting a new top on a frame that's been disassembled 4+ times.

When speaking to the rep (who appeared to be reading off notes of some sort) she advised all my requests were reasonable and will be honored, then went on to explain the fix isn't readily available immediately, but my case will be a priority to get fixed asap and thebparts are being special ordered, etc... no further specifics. Id assume they're replacing the entire thing as I requested, but that remains to be seen. As you all know - I'll keep everyone updated every step of the way!

What I think is happening is the fix is in but all parts are going towards production cars hence the special order as there is not a surplus yet. Same thing happened with my new top. Had to special order it. Same with Nutts water bag. I bet I am right on this one.

Sort of. Most new parts go right to production right after testing and validation. There is no surplus. Production would have to be ramped up to have extra's right away.
Got my TPW today. Looks like the Cherry Bomb will be made the first week of April. I should have it in my garage mid to late April.

Same thing I have been told. When I was down at the dealership they had test parts delivered. The service guy said it looks like the whole under carriage and top . When I talked to my service rep it looks like this will be a TSB meaning only people with a current rubbing issue. People with the bandaid fixes will only be done if problem continues. I currently don't have anymore rub marks since the last bandaid fix so as of right now I cannot get parts ordered even if the TSB was issued. Hopefully the weather will warm up here in NewEngland so I can start exercising the top. I really don't trust this top mechanics!

I know when my first one was replaced the material and thickness was different. I emailed Scott and he told me they made a change. Hence I had to wait. Seems that change in material may have helped as there seems to be less 2012's with problems than 2011's. Who knows. I'll do a write up once I get my new one.

Mine new one seemed to be heavier yet more pliable. Who knows. Guess I will know in about 5/6 weeks

This is all very interesting news. My dealer ordered me a new top last Friday. I asked them what top I would be getting and they didn't know. I hope to God I get the fix, because I will lose my mind if I get an older broken one.
