Interesting tid-bit of info in there:

"Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this program at no charge to customers,
regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, through April 30, 2014."

Does this relate to the following issue I am having.

1. Driver Side rear Quarter glass makes a vibrating notice when going up or down and
2. From the same side of the car with the top down only - there is some sort of N annoying noise - sounds like some metal piece is rubbing against another metal piece.

Please let me know... Thank You!

Start the petition now, GM owes SUX some $caching$ for solving the problem.

#2 can be fixed with some wd40 .. spray your joints where the top folds at... I did and it worked fine ! Sounded like a creaking sound...

What this is referring to is the rub marks and air leaks !

So dealer says they did my repair, is that possible if part wasn't available? Or would they have had parts from previous repairs (this is first and only repair to my 2012) so far.

ok once agian!!! the part they have to order is TAPE!!!!! there is no shims and no real part, its special GM RUB PREVENTING TAPE, i think for 45000 we should be supplied with a case of it since it usually falls off within a couple weeks.

So this is the FINAL fix right?

I've been waiting to ask about fix or top replacement until the final fix is out. Went to the dealer today for an oil change and to check a few issues, they said they are going to order me a new top in accordance with TSB 12052.

They said they should have the parts to do the repair next week.

Should I tell them to hold off or go for it? No holes yet, but some visible small tears in the outer threading of the top right now.

for now its the only fix for people that has rub marks and no holes, if you have holes you get a new top and about a 100 problems that go with the new top. i dont have hole yet, so you will need to ask some of the guys that had their tops replaced how they feel.

Yes, I would like to hear from those who have had their tops completely replaced. What issues are there, if any?

The only problem is that they are leaving out the most important of all SUX2BU's fixes, which is the one where he shimmed the top so it won't close down so tight. http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=194349

They didn't address this in 12052, only a piece of tape to cover the rough rail.

Mine needs a new top and that scares the sh*t out of me.... TAPE? They need to replace the mechanism, not band aid it with something that will fall off and/or disintegrate before the metal does. OMG. And then, only offer to fix them for the next 2 years? Yeah, this is not getting any better. :(

I have had my top replaced (canvas only) because of rub marks and a hole. I'm happy with the new canvas, and they did basically all the fixes listed in 12052, but until they address the problem SUX2BU addressed where the top closes down so tight, it's obvious the rub marks will return over time. I guess I will have to do it myself like SUX did. I can't believe they just dont make that bracket/stop a little longer to prevent the rubbing. :pa ddle:

I guess I'll have them attempt the band-aid fix, replace the damaged top, and wait from there. If it comes back, I will decidedly start the buy back process. Not a happy camper. We love this car, but it needs to be RIGHT. Waiting to here back from the GM Rep at the assistance center on this one. I let them know my intentions.
