Hi Troy!

Welcome aboard!

Glad you found us. My new 383 is supposed to do around 500 HP. We'll dyno the car when it's finished. They opened it up and checked everything out. All is well. I didn't get a read as to what's all there. I'll pulse the mechanic on it later.

The gas sender I got does have a return line. It's a 1/4 inch. Not sure if that's enough. I would think it would be. That was the only choice I had from Rick's Camaro.

Everyone here says hi.

See ya.

The engine is ready for paint. It'll be red.

Bryan is readying the car for the donor roof skin. The rust is getting cleaned up as we speak.

After the roof is put back together, other body work will commence.

Looking good Curt! It makes me happy to see more progress. Looks like it's almost time for another visit.

500hp super cool aluminum heads? you could probably ask summit racing about what the minimum requirements for the fuel injection. they are pretty up on that on their tech line. the car looks pretty shaggy w/o a roof. good thing you are a hoarder like dad and u held onto that roof for 20 years. hope you have a good turkey day . Painted Engine and Roof Replacement Progress

Here are some pictures of the engine and roof project.

Notice the rust on the donor roof. They had to do quite a bit of clean up.

Plus, we found out today that the donor roof isn't the same as mine. It's from a '69, but it must have been left over from the '68 (donor must have been an earlier VIN '69) as the header portion of the roof is quite different. We had to modify the center spar a bit to get it to fit properly on my car.

hey curt what kind of intake is that? looks like it will be a high revving motor with that intake? what gear ratio is in the rear? probably won't have much torque off the line so a 3.50:1 or numerically higher with the tremec low 1st gear might work well. looking good! i'm jealous..... see ya troy

Quick Status

:emoticon7:Unfortunately, no new progress.

I did order and receive Corbeau seats: http://www.corbeau.com/products/reclining_seats/lg1/

Also, received 4-point seat belts and brackets (to fit the 69).

I ordered a roll bar from Autopower (the Street-Sport): http://www.autopowerindustries.com/rollbars.asp

Ceramic coated headers are also on their way.

Now, I have to decide on Fuel Injection. Currently looking at http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-3528/

Car Crafters has been swamped lately and thus delayed any activity on my car. I wish people would quit getting into accidents for a while. Long enough so that I can get my car finished
