Popular Hotrodding article on new Camaro (+ sketches of Camaro convertible)

Nice read, including some sketches of what the Camaro Convertible may look like.

Pretty nice sketches, but I still prefer an SS coupe

Very nice. I would have to fight a battle in my mind when it came to choosing between the coupe or the convertible.

I'll take either theyre both just gorgeous! Wonder if a convertible would be released together with the coupe.

Ya I reall like that but to bad they won't have t-tops. but i still like the hard top best. but if they made the hard top ss look like that it would be sweet.

I really like that hood in the 2nd sketch. Hopefully they offer that hood instead of the one currently on the concept. I would have to say that I am also biased to the coupe. I would consider a convertable if it was offered in a hard-top though. I am just not a fan of ragtops. Of course if they offered t-tops I would be all over that option...

Have they already stated that t-tops will not be an option? Or is that speculation?

All of us, I would think, have pretty much agreed that T-tops wouldn't work w/ that roof. It sucks, because I'm not a fan of Verts but like the open air. I would like a solid removable roof like the Vette, but doubt they would do that either.

As far as the hood goes...Low and I were discussing that same issue. GM didn't really do anything to make the SS in the 4th Gen stand out. I would say in my opinion that GM knows this and there would be a chance they would have to do something different w/ the SS to really make it STAND OUT. Yes, I know they did a SS hood and spoiler but that was about it. Will GM do the same and offer up a tear drop hood??? What'cha think?

the ss had a whole new suspension wheels tires exhaust ram air not only the hood but actually functional. and the hood spoiler and they did offer alot of things from the factory as options on the ss , i think it was slp who made some parts for the ss like the grill and emboidered floor mats ground effects and center exhaust

Yeah. I'm leaning more towards outer appearance, though. I hope they do something to make it look more distinguishable and have people look from further away and say, "now that's an SS".

i heard they are going to return to the original trim packages with z28 being top dawg. the ss was never top dawg until the 4th gen. the old models were camaro, rs, rs/ss, z28. something like that but z28 was the cream of the crop.

back in the 60's there was nothing they did to the camaro that made it really stand out in appearence from other camaro's. all they might have had was stripes or decals nothing over extravagant. they didnt even start doing any kind of ramair hood till 97 they had weird vents and stuff but no ss hood like the 4th gen. i kinda hope the oposite of what you want TAG. i want one that has the 427 and no badging or special hood or anything that makes it stand out from a regular 6.0l. i want a stealth 427.
