OK cool thanks for the clarification, I missed the opportunity to get the DTC codes both times this happened and want to make sure I get them in the future. Thanks you guys for taking the time to respond, I learn a ton on here.

You can clear it with HP Tuners. My tuner was riding with me when my NW102 gave a p2101 code. It went into limp mode while doing a run and then disappeared. He said he cleared it on the fly but I never did ask how he did it. It only did it once but I got rid of the 102 since everyone said it wasn't necessary for a centri setup. I spent the money on other things.

Flavorwrench, I want you to start a thread in the first gen forum with pics of your 67 twin turbo if you haven't. I wanna see it.

I will for sure. It's about to come off the rotisserie, everything is new and no more stop light to stop light, a M. Stielow eater with a front Bench seat.

All I can say is the spacer came today and I flipped the NW back like stock and holy shit we are cooking with gas now. Why I put it on wrong without hesitating is still my own mystery. I still need to do my 3rd gear WOT tests to make sure it's not going into limp. I did several 1st to 2nd WOT and it powered hard right through where it was going limp before. AFR was off and it was getting warm so that was it. It was like finding the banana in the tail pipe, totally different power now. Hopefully I won't need to go with the TPIS , but I appreciate knowing where one can be found... thanks

Anything new with the NW 102mm TB issue?

I faced P1515 and P1516 with C5 Corvette (F2&434 LSx), and the blade shuts to 57% while the requested TPS stays at 89%:

I just purchased a NW 102mm TB for my 2012 ZL1 build. During WOT tuning we suspect that the TB blade is snapping closed. My understanding as well as many others in the Automotive community is that this issue was resolved. I purchased my TB from Speed Inc. who buys through Scoggin Dickey When the Throttle body was shipped to my door step, it was in a box that included 4 screws and foam packing. No instructions were included, no support info, no contact info, no setup information. I'm looking for any info that can help me utilize this hardware as it was intended. Does it matter which way the blade is opening. The stock TB has the motor side on the left, the NW Throttle body on my car is installed on the right so the blade actually opens in a different direction... does this matter? Also, what can I do to ensure this TB is operating correctly and if it is faulty, how can I get it fixed... its brand new.

Thank you for your time,

Bob

Email from Nick Williams:

The blade isn't actually snapping closed. It is the computer going into limp mode due to throttle angle fluctuation and closing it. This usually will show up on higher powered cars with PD blowers. Unfortunately there is no way to loosen the position tolerance in the stock computer yet. Cars using aftermarket controllers don't see this problem. Currently I don't have a solution that works in every situation. I have another design that works better, but hasn't fixed a few of the cars who have tried it. Those cars were making near 1,000 HP though.

Response from Bryan at Speed Inc.

Well well. So the reason why the blade is closing is supposed to be because of going into limp mode. Really?

This screen shot is BEFORE the engine gets into a limp mode. Isn't it interesting that the blade is actually too much open, i.e. 52% when the pedal is requesting 40%. No wonder why the engine then goes into the limp mode... You can actually compare the pedal position with blade position in the lower part of the the screenshot:

This was at pedal being at 76% but the blade is already at 90%:

So just an update on my issue. I have done 4 WOT pulls in 3rd gear from:

2000 - 5800
2000 - 6200
2000 - 6100
2000 - 7200

Also several 1st to 2nd to 3rd WOT runs and no PCM limp issues. Throttle resolution is night and day better and transition into boost is a lot smoother. So far so good.

Have you tracked? Many times what was fine on the dyno or test runs on the street led to failure on the strip.

We had no issues materialize on our Eddy Current Load Control Dyno Jet.

Issues did however show up on the street and track.

Have the same issues with my 402LSX build in a 2010 Camaro. Tried 3different TPIS TB's and still probs. Williams TB shutting at high RPM's. So,any suggestions? I'm using the stock TB for now and it works fine.

Sounds like the stock one is your answer.

You're gonna have to work with the TPIS. We had similar issues but finally got one we could tune. Jim will help you guys out.
