I do not disagree.

OP, say "brake in" one more time and I will fly over your car and poop towards it. Kidding.

Thanks JJ, what can i say i suck at spelling! On the flip side I didn't join to get spelling lessons but to get good information on breaking in the LS3. I have to say its way more fun to break in like the other thread said to

I just drove it normal... gunned it when needed, cruised it when needed. I had no specific method to its 'break in' period... i do believe i will have 0 issues in the future, and if i do, GM will probably place the blame on my tune, headers, intake, or SC'r at this point lol

No problem, just giving you a little lip. I drove mine "somewhat" easy for the first few 100 miles, then started letting her have it. Changed the oil at 1200 miles and then again at 2000 when I installed cam.

engines should be broke in hard. rear ends should be broke in lightly. the best truck my family ever owned was a 85 Suburban with a 350. It was pulling a huge camper all over the country for the 1st 50,000miles on the thruway from the day it pulled off the lot. The think got 17mpg and had more power than any 350 or 5.3l iv ever drove. that thing would roast the tires with ease.

I followed the hard method described in the link (http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=39955) when I got my car. Put a dirty side catch can on at around 35 miles and the "clean" side 1LE air oil separator at around 90. Hit 140 before 200 miles on the interstate at 05:30 on a Sunday morning. Oil changed at 1000 miles as well as differential fluid. I have over 5500 miles now and can't keep the grin off my face when guys ask if I have a supercharger because it runs so well and just pulls and pulls and pulls.

Break in your cars however you want to is all I am going to say, but I KNOW how I am going to do it from now on to my new cars.

I'm pretty sure your car came with a handy manual. My manual states, do not drive over 80mph. Do not make hard starts or stops and do not pass 4000rpm for 1500 miles.
My 2012 2SS I drove it like I stole it with 18 miles on it. I was happy to get rid of that car just under 4k miles.
My new car 2014 2SS 1LE. I did exactly what I typed up top and I sure can go sideways when I hit second in this one. The other would just give a chirp. I personally think it made a big difference.
Oh and there is no need to change your oil until 5000 miles

Well you broke the 2nd one in wrong then. Lol. The owners manual is written for the lawyers not the health of the engine.

Agree, yet I'll add that it's not true that synthetic oil is "too slippery" to allow rings to seat. Please, people, please, read up at bobistheoilguy.com
