What is 'loud' to you?

We all know that 'loud' is a subjective term, but what constitutes a loud exhaust to you? Does a vehicle have to be loud to sound good, or can a moderate or mild car sound good too? What are you running?

I run a cammed, open header car and it sounds just right to me. I like loud, I like hearing cams. My more "mild" friend has a L99 with stock exhaust and claimed it sounded great till we were next to each other and you didn't even know if his car was on...
My list on best sounds
1.)open headers cam
2.) cam headers NPP
3.)headers NPP
4.) ANYTHING with NPP
5.)GT with an exhaust set up
6.)stock trash cans on SS

First of all, anything someone doesn't want to hear is too loud, based on their own personal pet-peeves.

I believe in the theory that a vehicle is only too loud if it is making too much noise to be going as slow as it is, such as motor scooters, Harleys, Honda Civics with fart cans, my neighbors lawn mower, etc.

Idk. I have muffler deletes, since it's cheap and college isn't. I feel like it would be perfect with high flows or long tubes, but I've never heard one in person.

I had a Flowmaster 80 on My old Grand Am and it was VERY loud with bad drone at highway speeds. They were on there for about 9 years before they rotted off and I installed a magnaflow. Much better and doesn't wake up the neighbors like the Flowmaster did.

Loud is GOOD! Raspy is not my thing. Neither is drone! Other than that, THE LOUDER THE BETTER!

All the best,

Mine was tested at 129 decibels! It's loud enough!

I had a pretty mild Magnaflow street catback on my 2010 and always found myself wanting more.
My friend just installed the GMPP (Borla) offroad axleback, he thinks its loud, but I think it sounds great.

To me, just being loud isn't always a good thing. I like mine to have a good tone to it. My 2010 SS that I sold had DT shorty headers with Solo HF cats and Flowmaster AT cat back system. That was one of the best old school sounding systems with zero drone.

To me the tone is more important to loudness.
I feel like if you cannot carry on a normal conversation while cruising along at 55-75mph without raising your voice to be heard then it's too loud.

I have longtube headers, hi flo cats, with straight pipes, no mufflers. LOUD. Backfire under decal, and people WITH cammed cars think its cammed.
