2017 Season Kick Off Fontana Auto Club Speedway
After dusting the Z28 off from Christmas and Winter in California I took the Z28 out for a testing day at Fontana Auto Club Speedway. Day went well and we ran a 1:50 with a wet track which cut at least 5 seconds. Looking forward to the 2017 Season with NASA. I also instructed a great group of guys and got to drive a Mustang GT350 which is a great car.

How much weight reduction have you been able to get out of the car?

I got confirmation from Cunningham Motorsports and if you install headers and mid pipe you would need to tune the car, if you just do catback you could get away without having to tune. I actually picked up a second ECU to use for tuning the car when I start that and will keep the OEM ECU to put back in the car if it needs to go to the dealer for anything.

Some cool ideas and car happening here. Additional power will have to be a blast once tuned. Do you have a projected plan for the parts?

With all the mods you did including cutting out rear trunk structure I would bet your entire warranty is void. For kicks you should just drive that bad boy to any dealer today for warranty work I bet they would laugh you right out of the parking lot. I amazed why you did not just purchase a Z 2/8.R and saved yourself a bunch of money. I really do like your car even follow you on Instagram but reality is you're hosed. Since you're hosed you really should have the heads redone with all the high stress and abuse your engine has already experienced I bet your guides are close to being shot. Have you checked for play yet?

Racing Brake 2 Piece Forged Calipers and Sintered Metallic Pads
So I made the switch to the Racing Brake 2 Piece Forged Alloy Calipers and Sintered Mettallic pads for the Carbon Ceramic Rotors. I started a separate thread for those interested in seeing my notes on the overall performance as well as the claim that the Sintered Metallic pads actually increase life of the Carbon Ceramic Rotor. The Sintered pads have at least a 50% better feel of braking capability so I am very excited to see the added benefit of the forged calipers.
