Freakin' awesome. I hope I get the chance to see this monster in person. Weight is unbelievable!

Excellent work -- sometimes, you just have to do it yourself ;o)

got the jegs brand u joint girdles installed. they get torqued to 45ft/lbs. I don't think these are going anywhere.

got to come up with the front driveshaft loop. the one I bought is looking like it's going to be too small. I'll most likely start on brake lines this weekend

driveshaft loop is in. it's a very tight fit but it clears. started running the line to the back of the car. just need to pick up a tee yet.

raised the ride height on the rear an tightened the bars up. just need to set pinion angle and zero preload. driveshaft now has sufficient clearance.

replaced a leaking power steering pressure line. haven't had much time this week to dig into the rest of the list.

got the steering column mounted today. added a helmet hook as well. going. work on finishing tightening bolts for the 4 link bars and fix my driveshaft clearance issue. really hoping. don't have to cut the trans tunnel out to get the clearance I need.

I'm running into if I raise ride height I lose diagonal link clearance, so I'm going to try and lower the diagonal link and hope raising the ride height works I'd not I'll have to raise the trans tunnel.

tightened all 4 link bars, raised ride height, and dropped the diagonal link another 1.5". ride height is now level and I'm happy with driveshaft clearance

in the process of installing rear trunk pins. as you can see lots of cutting to clear. only thing left to do is install the pins.

hoping to have the car on the dyno in 6-8weeks. wish me luck

got the trunk pins all finished. finished seam sealing the rear panels up, and got with Scott Clark from realtuners to work on starting to remote tuning the car

tonight we had about an hour back and forth fixing my mixed wires for the map sensor. going to pick up a fresh set of plugs tomorrow morning and make as pointer to verify timing before we go further

got a pointer made out of some welding rod. found tdc. for those of you that don't know how to do that... find when the piston first comes up on the compression stroke, rotate the motor backwards and find when it first reaches the top, the middle is true TDC. in this case it's 132 degrees. I marked it to verify that's what I have while the ecm is in timing verification mode.

going to stop and pick up a fresh set of plugs after I drop my son off at school, verify timing, then swap in the fresh set of plugs. hoping to have idle/startup sorted out today with Scott

EDIT: timing ended up being 5 degrees off. put the offset in so we're good to go

got back with Scott last night. worked a lot of the bugs out. ran into another hiccup though. I had shoved heater hose plugs on the water pump outlets without clamps as I was going to buy the loop and forgot about it. well, one popped off and I lost all the contents of the cooling system all over the engine. shoved some new plugs on with some clamps this time and refilled the cooling system real quick.

next issue, can't get the idle lower than 1500 with the throttle body screw backed all the way out, so I have a vacuum leak somewhere behind the throttle body.

after the engine got hosed down with water on the passenger side it wouldn't start. battery charger said full so we called it a night. thinking the boiling water heat soaked the starter(praying this is the case). will try to start again today while it's cold to verify. also tightened up the intake studs a bit more. they're as tight as I'm comfortable with now

so I ordered the correct loop for heater hose bypass, a holley paper tb gasket(part#508-20), and a second heim joint for the steering column as it has some movement in it that I'm not happy with.

hopefully these few things take care of my issues and I can get this thing idling where it needs to be. it's not far off now. it runs super smooth after the timing/fuel changes he made

Get some of this:

Great for anything dealing with vacuum...

I'll have to order a tube of that! thanks

ended up putting it up on the rack today and that starter is junk! solenoid and bendix engage but will not roll the motor. so I ordered a high torque cvr starter its 1.9hp, 4:1 reduction so should roll the motor over much easier. also picked up 2 t-bolt clamps for the throttle body. one is bound to be the correct size.

I'm going to fix all these issues my next set of days off and we're shooting for Tuesday to resume tuning. fingers crossed.

got the starter installed and that didn't end up being the culprit of my issues. pulled the battery out of another car in the shop. fixed the issue. new starter rolls the car over much faster though.

checked the charging voltage while running. 13.4 volts which is default when it's not seeing feedback from the ecm/bcm. I'll test it again with all my accessories on to be sure it doesn't drop any lower than that. if it does, I will replace. voltage regulator to something that can self excite.

vacuum leak- traced it to the throttle body. the junk iac motor has the Pintle hanging open pulling air from in front of the blade. going to have the hole welded shut and just use timing vs coolant temp for idle control.

installed the coolant loop on the water pump so we should be back in business to get back to tuning. I'm going to pick up a set of weatherpack crimpers and connectors and finish all my wiring this weekend/next week.

finally feel like I'm making progress with the car
