And at night , we need lights to see The problem is , that at about half way down the story , the speed is so great , that the lights stop working , just about when traveling speed is just a smidge faster than the speed of light . Now you see the reason I can't tell my story |

there are only three filters i'll consider using any more: -Wix -K&N -Mobil1 the wix is by far the cheapest. wix also makes napa's filters, so if you buy a napa filter, it's basically the same thing. having been on the "other" side of the counter for a few years while i got through college, i have PLENTY of dumbass customer stories... |

Went to a local one near my house about a year ago for a set of plugs for my Harley. The counter guy asks me what I want, and I told him plugs for a 2006 Harley Heritage. He says does Ford make that? I said no, Harley makes it. He looks again, and quotes me a price for 8 plugs. I told him no, 2 plugs for a Harley Davidson, He spins the screen around and brought up the Ford Harley edition truck. Again I tell him Harley Davidson motorcycle. Oh he says, looks again and informs me that they don't make the plugs for bikes. Went to Pep-Boys down the street.

Why not use an OEM AC Delco filter that you can buy at Wal-Mart with your oil? They're the only filter I'll use, personally. I use OEM Mopar filters for my Jeep.
Keep in mind that GM warrants our powertrain for 100,000 miles. Trust me, they use excellent filters.

I spent YEARS working at an AutoZone as a manager when I was in college and for a while after. You hear all kinds of crazy crap from the people we would hire. I spent so much time correcting them it was nuts.
You have to remember though, they do not pay SQUAT at O'reilleys, AutoZone, or Advance so the level of knowledge is much less. I was hiring people for minimum wage, max 20 hours a week (these were regional rules not mine) and I just couldn't fill spots with people who knew what they were doing. My solution? Hot young girls. Even if they **** up no one cares and they always come back to see them, haha. Even when hiring managers, the hourly cap was HARD set at 13.00 and hour. You aren't going to get ASE certified mechanics and such to work for you, ever, at that rate. You of course will find the occasional awesome parts guy still, but most of the really really good ones have migrated to dealerships or service writer positions. There is NO MONEY in auto parts labor any more. It's sad, because that's how you get some complete moron telling you you will increase HP with an oil filter hahaah Long story short: retail chain parts stores suck donkey beans. For everyone, employees and customers. |

Maybe because, while I use it on my own car because I have a bunch of free oil changes at a dealership, they consistently rank in the middle of the pack in terms of filtration and performance?

ac delco filters are no longer made in the usa, and have fallen in their quality control quite a bit. cut one open and you'll find what more resembles a coke can than a filter.
