two diy projects just finished
first was a polished aluminum strut tower brace and today was a mirror blend mount and hardwiring of the passport 9500 ix(still can be unplugged and removed to go in my other vehicle in less than a few seconds)i also want to thank mobile solutions in calgary as i searched everywhere to find passport accessories in town with no luck till i found them .they have this stuff actually in stock!!!! they gave me a great lesson in all things radar detectors / laser jammers .

I have the Blend Mount, just have to install it now.
How hard was it to hard wire the detector into your mirror? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk HD |

Talked to guys that professionally install them and was directed that its way better to wire to fuse panel by drivers side door I used a wire made by passport to hard wire it .i ran just inside edge of headliner ,and down a pillar to fuse panel took about a hr cause I kinda had to figure it all out.i personally didn't like idea of tapping into wires related to onstar and auto dimming mirror plus wire taps kinda looked shady lol

It's the fuse labeled power outlet I tapped i found this picture on here I just grounded to bolt to l side of panel. I think this is right link for wire from passport
https://www.escortradar.com/Mobile/P....php?PID=16158 I'd just make sure this cord has inline fuse on it . Mobile solutions has right one

I have my passport 8500 stuck to the window on the left side of the mirror. Do you find it obstructs your view with it being underneath the mirror?
I love the hardwire idea! I may have to do that for mine too! |

I hate having cord out anywhere too ! And I find it took a day to get used to it but it definitely doesn't obstruct view as far as safety wise . It is really easy to access all buttons on detector especially the mute button .next project will be laser shifter !
