Service Stabilitrak? (Launch Control)

Hello all, I posted this awhile back;

Launch Control problems

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys, I did a search and couldn't find my exact problem, but forgive me if I missed it.

Anyways, I HAVE gotten launch control to work in my car before (when I first got it back in June), but am recently having problems using it.

So, I hit that button twice, put it in competition mode while the car is not moving, put it in first gear, floor it and dump the clutch, correct?

Well, when it works, the RPMs hover around 4-5k (?) I believe.

But recently it will just red line, making it so the ass end kicks out when I launch it (yikes).

Has anyone else had this problem, or has it been addressed?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well I am aware of the issue where you must FLOOR the gas instead of gently press it down...it still doesn't work!

...And now, whenever I start my car, I get a "Service Stabilitrak" message popping up in the center (between the speedometer and tachometer).

Any suggestions? I hope this is covered under the warantee

Figured it out yet? There is another post with a similar problem and am waiting to see how to fix it!

Apparently if you start the car and hold the key instead of "tapping" it with electronic start it will give you the error message.

So basically you guys are saying you only had the launch control to work once and that was it? Since then this message has been appearing? Also anyone out there have a vid of the new ss using launch control i would love to see it.

I have tried launch control and have had it work and not work. Seems that most of the time it doesn't work. I talked to a GM rep and they said to stomp (floor the gas pedal)but again sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I wish that it would work consistently like the owners manual says. Scares ya pretty good when you stomp on it and it goes to redline. YIKES.
Now I just feather the throttle around 3k with traction control off and let it rip. Seems to be more consistant.
Does anyone have a better solution to get it to work everytime.

I took mine to 2 different Chevy dealers and neither were able to tell me anything, they had no clue... infact one even googled it in front of me cause he never heard of it! (Henderson Chevy in NV don't go!!!) They both kept telling me it is working but it does not hold the RPMs and they don't think it should, even though it is supposed to.

Got a straight answer from the dealership, your tires have to perfectly straight and everything has to be perfect, got it to work again.
