Purchasing a new 2012...

I found a new 2012 2ss/rs on a lot still in the U.S. What's a good price for it? It's listed around $35k right now on their site. I was just browsing this morning at new cars on lots sorted by oldest to newest years and came across it. Talking to dealer now about the car. Haven't started price negotiations yet.

Buy the car that you would most like to get beat in. The other guy will always be faster.

~$25k for a NEW 2ss/rs? No way. 2012 or not, still worth way more than mid 20s.

If I understand this right its new, never titled? My 2012 2SS/RS convertible cost $45K in late 2011. $35K sounds like a good ballpark to me. Offer $30K and see where that goes

Good luck!

Correct. I planned on offering 30k to see how they react because I can get a 2013 2ss/rs for that right now.

I just bought a 10, not new, with only 3600 miles for ~$28k from a dealer. Id say mid to low $30ks for a new unregistered twelve is not a bad deal. Something like 31k-33k sounds better though if they will do it.

Nope. New at my local dealer. They have two. They're trying to move them, but aren't what I'm looking for.

Make an offer of 30K, see what they say. I would say 32K max! I bought my 2010 2SS /RS last spring with 4,800 miles for 28K

As a baseline, make an offer of whatever the trade in value is on a 2012 and work from there (mid 20s sounds about right by the way). New or not, its a two year old car and you should only make an offer on that basis.

As an example, I bought a left over 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in mid 07. I offered 22k on a car with a 36k sticker. I bought it for 23k.

What are you smoking? A new 2012 will suffer from WAY worse depreciation than a 2014 the second it leaves the lot. I wouldn't pay more than whatever it's used value is.
