Cool beans, The factory USB in the console doesn't work anymore though right? Where did you mount the new ones? Is the GPS antenna definitely needed or can you just use your phone GPS? Has the android 8.1 been updated yet? Thanks in advance, lots of questions here, LOL

Hmm this looks interesting, I'm currently fooling around with a digital octopus radio because im desperate for carplay. But if it doesnt pan out, I may consider this. Actually wish I would of saw this first tbh. Only thing I was familiar with was the MVI system but I didnt like that AUX had to be the input for the audio.

I have the Gen5 kit. I retained my oem usb port using an axxess usb mini retention harness. Not sure how the OEM one is. i believe you have a coupler as well but i do not know. part i used was: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/axxess-...?skuId=4572061

No aux here. integrates perfectly. SWC still work, and i can use the touch controls on it to control it all. MVI only uses aux as its an older system without integration to the audio signal. This one goes over USB and makes it think its an ipod. Audio clarity is VERY good.

Nice, have you used the wireless carplay or android? Might not have to worry about the usb as much if the wireless works and sounds good

They just pushed a new update today, good fixes. The wireless connection is so quick i almost cant plug the cable in fast enough. It works very well. I dont use the MIC as well, i rather use my earbud for calls. quick and easy to pull one out and pop it in before answering the call.

Stil 8. The updates fix some issues. They are planning A12 by years end which enhances the longevity so much more.

I'm curious how much information is shown in the cluster info screen and HUD. I have a 15 2ss and it shows a lot of information that comes from the head unit.

None. It doesnt touch that. Now you can use ODB2 from torque in AA now.

Still going strong as of now. working on a few minor things but thats it.

That's what I figured, it would be very difficult to do that. I really do love the nav info that is shown in those two areas, it just that the nav is so outdated now. And that's practically the only reason I'm looking to upgrade.

Last update really helps. I love this addon. Honestly, using OEM radio and being modern makes me happy.
