I did have common sense, and enough to do my research on it. No one is "running off" to a web forum to ask about it. There are reasons someone could sell a car cheap I have seen it before. There is honestly no reason for your comment. This "forum" did exactly what I wanted it to and was the final nail in the casket and I appreaciate their responses.

It is possible it is a scam. The rule of thumb is don't buy the car unseen and don't hand over any money until the keys are in your hand and you are standing next to the car.

there is a 2010 with 10k at a dealership near me for 18k, so the price could be right.

good luck but be cautious

You did the right thing, definitely a scam and deifnitely a wise choice to get a 2nd opinion. Hopefull that D-bag gets caught, this stuff goes on all the time, especially on Craigslist with cars. Good luck with the search for an affordabe SS though, hopefully you find something!

The thing that gets me...and in no way is this to take the side of the scammer...is that they could have at least said it was an LS (and used a different picture of course) to try and get their scam to work.

Who would believe an SS would go for $18k?

So not only are they scammers...they're stupid!

Me thinks the idea here is to create the urgency to "act before you think" since obviously if it was real it'd be gone in an hour. i.e. the wife ticked at her husband so she sells his pride & joy.
