yup, trials and tribulations...

We are going to be talking to Precision this afternoon to see what they can cobble together for us... We are under some space constraints right now if we leave the turbo's in the same spot, which is the desire... We may be clearancing the frame some...

Hopefully we'll know more this afternoon... Would love to have you down this way...

Just an FYI, there is a Land Speed run closer to you... The Loring Land Speed Association does a run I'm considering in the next year or two... It's a 1.5 mile run.... Loring Maine...

Spinning it in third was pretty tame for Brandi... In October with the factory rubber and wheels, we spun them in 5th at about 190 mph.... THAT was KNUTS....
I hear you on the trial and tribulations but in the end when you finally get behind the wheel and hammer down it becomes worth it in that instant haha.

I'm sure they can come up with something especially after how well they pulled it together to get you another turbo. They should sponsor you man for real. I'll be interested and for sure keep checking in to see how that comes along, btw when are you guys spraying the nitrous? Just in 5th and 6th?

Yeah i'd love to come down that way Texas is on the places I think in the future I'd like to move so I'll have to do some recon and a little driving . Unforunitely I don't think my car will be quite ready by the next mile event. We'd need to switch when I start spraying, doing a haltech EMS and racepak dash like emma's car and most importantly we are at the mercy of the stock block, 900whp on spray I'm pushing it.

Not sure what their reqs are for safety I'll look into it I don't plan on exceeding 199mph so I don't think I need a cage for the mile in texas which is a big factor for me. I probably would have crapped myself if I spun the tires into 5th LOL. Really your car is incredible man.

To date, even the abandoned runs are fun... I keep waiting for a weekend with four or 5 full passes... absolutely blazing down the track... I'll be in hawg heaven when that happens.... and what makes all of this so much more enjoyable is having the support and camaraderie of so many friends who cheer from afar or take time out of their busy schedules to make it down to the track to watch.... Amazing in my mind.... So many jump in to help, offer parts off their car, or drive 60-70 or 100+ miles chasing parts to help out where they can...

I was able to offer parts up to several others to keep their weekend going and I guess the pay back was others doing so much to help our cause out.... One of the big things I love about this land speed racing... It isn't so much one car against another, it's a car against the speed trap....

As for nitrous... we spray mostly to spool the turbos a bit faster.... ahem, sort of.... We spray in 2nd, 3rd 4th and 5th... at WOT..... We don't shift into 6th.... If I run out of gear in 5th, it's time for new gears... If I shift into 6th and stand on it the trans would scatter all over the place... 1st - 5th are billet gears.... 6th is a factory gear... A friend has gone through several transmissions at the mile due to having billet gears in 1st - 4th only.... He'd run through the gears, shift into 5th and the trans would scatter so to speak... as soon as he would stand on it and he's around 850-900 rwhp... In the lower gears, there is still enough reduction to hold up, but in the overdrive gears, the trans has to be built or it will disassemble itself... At the speeds we are talking about, the exponential increase in wind resistance, rolling resistance and the power being thrown at it is brutal...

If I could find a billet 6th gear I would own it....

If you come down this way, you have a place to stay if I'm not offshore.... We got room...

Yeah i'd love to find an abandoned air field and just her rip but you got me thinking with the billet gears if I shift into 5th(I haven't yet at WOT) that I might loose my tranny haha. Seems i have some more work to do. For sure that kind of car people sticking together feeling at those races is awesome, thats how I feel when I ride my motorcycle. Even times I've stopped on the side of the road just to check maps on my phone or make a call I've had other bikers stop and ask if I was ok.

Appreciate that man and likewise if your up here on the east coast. I hope to catch up with you in person and see your car at C5Fest or at the mile.

I'm waiting on updates myself.... We have someone at Precision pushing for a new turbo possibility... a 76 /75 with an "S" cover.... They o not make one and would have to modify some stuff to make on... Time will tell...

Give the guys at Comp Turbo here in SoCal(Southern California) a call as they can make pretty much any combo turbo you want. They made me a really nice 80-79 with billet wheel for the Hemi. I think they used to work for Precision. You have nothing to loose by asking them.

BTW, they sell oil-less turbos also that do not require an oil pump when the turbos hang down low. They have an internal wick that supplies lubrication kind of like the Prochargers and such.

I just had some bad luck this past weekend. I was bracket racing in the state finals and on the semi-finals I was not able to continue. The dampner bolt came loose and the water pump was not turning and the car overheated during the quarter finals.

So how much longer before you get some turbos put on to this beast R? Or are you shopping for a system that will work with yours right now?

We have an idea how, and have mapped out the routing of the piping which will all be custom fab'ed in the shop...

We are just trying to figure out what turbos we'll be using...
