Simple Question

Hi guys,

So I got a 2012 45th Anniversary Camaro SS. Sorry first of all hi everyone! first post here. Coming from an 2006 Acura TL WDP. My question I have been looking for is how do you turn the fog lights on? The manual says to turn it to the sign on the turning knob left of the steering wheel. They turn on when the car is not started but once the car starts the headlights turn on and the fogs shut off. Do you need a harness of some sort to turn both on at the same time?

Thanks for any help.

Is it an SS/RS? If so you don't have fog lights. You have daytime running lamps and you can turn those off with the headlight knob to the left of the steering wheel. On Non-RS cars, certain trim levels (1 & 2LT, 1 & 2SS) do have fog lights instead of the daytime running lamps that are always on with the RS package.

You can buy a harness, however, to run those lights with your headlights.

The headlights will run while it's dark. The fog lights run automatically when it's day. You can get a harness from a vendor here to run the fog lights with the headlights.

It sounds to me like your vehicle does not have the RS appearance package.

If that's the case, the knob to the left of the steering wheel that controls your exterior lights should also have a push button in the center.

Push that, and the fog lights should turn on.

I did not know the RS package was automatically part of the 45th package. You learn something new

So, to amend my previous post:

Your fog lights only come on as Daytime Running Lights. There are various plug-in harnesses that can be purchased from various vendors that allow you to have more control over which exterior lighting can be turned on and off.

Good luck

Yeah, the 45th edition comes with the RS package, so... no fog lights for you! but check in our vendor forum and you can get a harness so they'll run with your headlights.

Welcome around!

I got this whole kit - LED bulbs and harness from AAC. if you're going to do the harness, pay the extra $$'s and get these bulbs aswell. It makes a huge difference -- from yellow, dim DRL's, to white bright that match the HID...
