You can go to the HP Tuners forums, they have a lot of information. The 6L80 and 6L50 are similar for tuning, so you can use the 6L80 information. For the LS transmission to work like the LT, I would have to see the tune itself to see if there is any areas where it is set. Even the 2012+ auto's have the settings backwards from the factory for performance in sport mode.

3rd gear launch I did, 0-60 in 5.6 seconds which is better than the stock V6 does with 1st and 2nd gears. Engine is running rich in that RPM, that is why my power is down.

It allows me to see how much low end torque I'm making by how much the torque converter stalls. It flashes to about 4600 right now then goes down to 4300, it should be about 5000. Since I can't launch in 1st or 2nd on the street, this is the best way of measuring it, I did it on my 5.0 also when I was tuning it. Right now I'm moving my cams around to see what the stall speeds are, once that is done I'm going to work on the brake stall to see if I can get it to leave the line while the engine is spun up already.

Moved the exhaust cams 5 degrees and I lost 150 RPM stall speed, so I had to move the exhaust cams 20 degrees to get them set right. Now I'm going to move the intake cam in to see if it helps or hurts.

Did a good pull today and found an imbalance in the banks from the aux fuel. It happened after I did some porting on the intake manifold and the pills were reinstalled. It is off by 5% to 10%, so I think it might be a clogged one, will have to check it. Got to get that problem fixed because the richer I run the slower the car is, I have to run right at 0.90 lambda to make good power with the amount of water I spray.

It is actually rich considering how much heat water removes. The LNF stock tune ran 0.88 lambda on pump gas with 20 PSI of boost. With direct injection the engine can run leaner while removing more heat.
With some more cam changes I have the converter flashing to 5000 RPM now, at the same RPM the engine is sucking in more air so I'm making more power now. With the aux fuel system disabled I'm out of fuel at 6800, which it runs at 0.94 lambda which is too lean for me. It is fine for a short burst but not a full quarter mile run, the engine gets real hot by the time 4th gear hits if I run it that lean too long. |
