Radio not holding the correct date

I have had my car for 5 months now and the radio will not hold the right date. It's not an everday driver and it seems whenever I do get in it, the date is off by 1-3 days. The time is always correct. I know I am setting it right and if I drive two days in a row the date is correct. It's only after the car has sat for a few days.

I haven't ever seen that before but if you don't have the time with the correct am/pm setting it will be off, but only by 12 hours. I think your car is trying to tell you not to leave it behind or it's going to mess with you a little bit. Anyway try calling your dealership's service dept. and see if there are any simular reports, they may have something for you.

you know this is odd.... just Saturday we were in the car and my step daughter noticed the date was wrong. I thought it was strange cause I had set all that up when we bought the car and it has never been changed or lost battery power. I didnt think anything of it and reset it.

Now this thread has me curious... cause my car goes a while sometimes without being driven either. I am going to have to keep an eye on it and will post an update.

i drive my car everyday and the date is always correct. however i went on vacation this past week which it sat for 8 days. today i started it this morning and realized i had to change the clock back an hour and the date was also wrong. it was about 4 days behind. this may be a new issue with this car. if i dont drive it on the weekend its fine. maybe longer than 3 days is when it gets screwed up.

Make sure you leave the time circuits turned off. I saw this DeLorean once that got the date screwed up a few times.

Have your dealer replace the Flux Capacitor.

But seriously... one thing that bugged me is that after all the high tech advances in the car I STILL had to manually set the clock back for DST the other weekend.

Come on... it's got a calendar... Timekeeping software is trivial to write. And there's tons of open source software code available to show how to set this up. What's next, will I have to set it a day back every leap year too?!?!

it's happened to me a few times too...at first I thought I had programmed the wrong date, but it happened again...
I've had my car 5 months now...
Didn't realize it's happened to others...wonder if GM knows anything about this...
And, the time stays correct...

I'm lost, why is your car timetraveling while you are sleeping. Is this something new from SEMA?

well I wouldnt mind so much if the car traveled just as long as it would take me with it back in time.... Then I could purchase some Lottery tickets and stock
