Need audio help!

I replaced the factory head unit with an Alpine & a Maestro box so I have Apple Car Play as well as onscreen navigation. The Maestro allows the new head unit to control all the HVAC as well through the Alpine head unit touch screen. It also still shows the back up camera. We replaced all the speakers, the sub behind the seat (convertible) and a new amp all with Infinity Kappa series. All hocked up and plays through my phone with one serious issue. There is a horrible buzz coming through just the rear speakers whenever the car is running. Turning the volume to zero or pausing the music doesn’t stop this dreadful buzzing. Shut the car off and it stops while the music plays until you open the drivers door like normal. We did remove the F2 amp fuse from the box in the trunk as the amp is directly wired into the battery. I’m completely stumped. Please help.

There might be a piece I’m missing above as it was $2400-something.

Sounds like a bad ground to me. Also make sure your RCA wires are not anywhere near the main power cable that goes from the trunk to the front of the car. The buzzing sound is more than likely engine noise being transferred through the speakers.

We’ll check that. Thank you.

But why just the rears?

did u run rca's from the headunit to the amp? which speakers have the chokes(bass blockers)? and try removing them.
did u use any existing wire from the factory rear speakers?
hums come from signal interference and bad grounds. simply put... on multi ohm amps chokes can trick the amp into running speakers at a different impedance as well.
get rid of the chokes, verify ur wiring and check ur ground.

It is already. The weird part is it’s only coming through the rear speakers.

Sounds like a bad ground/gain issue. Gains shouldn't exceed 1/3 on the dial and be sure your ground is best possible. The amp is in the trunk and you can go direct to the battery as well. Did you have the Boston acoustics option factory? How was it added in? Also, be sure the amplifier is running ok the HI level or speaker level inputs option. Anything over 5+v on the RCA can cause issue or on the low level inputs option.

Yes it was a BA car originally. The new speaks are sooooo much better in person when we pulled the factory ones. You can see the better quality over the OEM ones.

I’ll pass along your comments. Thank you.

Do you have the amp input switch set to high or low? I had this happen, I ran through all of the troubleshooting you are doing now, and it turned out to be the setting on my amp.
