Maybe we should all call GM to let them know that due to 'safety concerns' we would like to upgrade our Onstar module? Do you all think that this will help or hurt Nutbutt's request?

Hmmm...don't know if it will hurt Nutbutt's request, but I also don't want to jinx it for him...

The VCIM replacement saga continues. I got another call telling me that if I replaced the VCIM with the part # with the Bluetooth antenna and Circuit that the car would not start and the warranty on the car would be void ? Where do these guys get this stuff ? Well I pointed out that the part numbers are interchangeable by documentation I got from ONSTAR and that there was a replacement done at my dealership. That's when I got the "well that's what I was told" I then asked to speak to someone who had some technical background. Finally I got a person who admitted they didn't know why GM wouldn't want to sell me a new Bluetooth box except for the fact that I might be circumventing the upgrade process for new cars. So once again I have been referred to another level who is suppose to get back to my dealership not me ?? These people don't want to give any names or phone # since they appear to be afraid of people blaming them in the future.
Long story short ! Still on hold but haven't been told NO yet !

Nothing new today on the VCIM replacement. The local service department did email me asking if GM got in touch with me? I reminded them that GM was suppose to contact them not me ! Sometime I wonder if this is all worth it ! More tomorrow if I don't go off on the service dept.
Still haven't been told no yet !

Okay who is going to own up to the purchase of the VCIM on eBay from schrams ?
What the heck are you thinking $450 for a VCIM ? Am I being stupid ?

Are we sure somebody bought it, or was the item removed? I haven't seen it on there since last week...

Well I guess we will all end up bidding on the same unit. Iwantone2, if you are bidding on it, I will bow out. Don't want to drive up the price unnecessarily.

Well, I'm still going to work my service people to get a new one from GM. I also sent GM a listing for the VCIMs and showed them what is happening to the market if they won't allow upgrades. Looks like I should have a decision early next week. If I can't get one from GM I am planning to take a 2 day trip to visit Chris at Costar and hopefully work that solution. My friends CTS works great with Bluestar ! Now if I just can figure out how to break away from work for 2 days and explain to the wife that this would be a great vacation for 2 days !
