ACS Composite Review

To say I'm picky when it comes to my car would be an understatement. I recently purchased the ACS 4teen Hood Heat Extractor kit from ACS for my 13 1LE. For those of us with 10-13 Camaros, we have limited options when it comes to this mod. I had followed various DIY threads on this as I've wanted to do this since the z28 was introduced, just never felt confident.

I met the guys from ACS a couple of weeks ago at Superfest and decided to buy the kit. Last Saturday, with help from a couple of friends, we installed the kit. The vent itself is the OEM GM vent, satin black, for 14/15 Camaros, but the water tray is a clever idea that's all ACS. No aluminum bars, no tabs, just a simple fiberglass tray that also acts as the mounting hardware. Their templates were perfect and the instructions were very easy to understand and follow.

Honestly, as we drilled the first hole in my hood, I was ready to buy a new hood, but after we installed everything, I wondered why I hadn't done this sooner. If you're considering the extractor for your 10-13 or 14/15 RS, you will not regret buying the ACS kit. I'll post a couple of pics.

I went with a 14/15 SS hood liner, and I'm currently working on a template, will most likely cut out of carbon fiber, filler pieces to run on both sides of the tray to finish off the look. And by the way, ACS does supply you with a template to cut your existing hood liner to fit around the tray, I just decided to make mine look different.
