We should have driven our cars more. Probably would have received the same deal even with twice the mileage.

Yeah when I traded my 12 LS they listed it at 26,500...I bought it for 23,000...they gave me 22 for the trade (yea...I played the shit out of them). Needless to say I made out very well.

I have not bought a cargo net since my 1999 Sunfire came with one. I have just moved it from car to car. The 2012 makes the 4th car it's been in.

First let me say that is a beautiful 2LT/RS. The price is set high so when someone pulls in with their 1997 Saturn with 250,000 miles they can allow $5,000 trade in value for the Saturn. Everyone is happy.

Looks like invoice on your new car is around 31500. Giving you 23,600 for your car + 10k more = 33,600.00 + fees and taxes....dealer makes around 2000 on you. They will sell your old car for around 26,000 to 26,500. They will use your wheels to sweeten the deal for the new buyer. Which means they make around 2000 more, plus the kick back from financing the other person. Not a lot of people pay cash for their cars. Dealer wins. As always. Still not a bad deal for you. But its how the game is plays. The dealership will end up making 4000+ of you and your trade. It's how they stay in business. Asking 27,995 gives them room to come down slowly and make the other person feel when the price gets to that magic point of 26000 to 26500 they will accept the dealers price.

The wheels I could have kept, but they were junk and I didn't want to lose the ones off my new car. The only reason they even look decent still is because my car was always garaged.
