What could this mean? Need your expert opinions

I have been getting weekly updates on my order from my dealer. The manager that looks it up for me is out of town this week, so he had the sales guy give me an update today.

My status has been the same for two weeks "accepted by production control." I am number one at my dealer, and had an original TPW of 3/23-3/26.

Today the only info my sales person is able to get (assuming her cannot get into the workbench stuff like the manager) is that it shows "in progress" what does that mean?

Just curious what this could mean, or if some of you GM folks would have some better insight for me.

They can't tell you any more than what was already said. It "should" be built that week but your order is not showing any status updates.

But, it's not the dealer's fault if there are delays beyond their control.

it's a poor attempt as saying he has no idea.

Just wait for your dealer's manager to get back and I'm sure he'll be able to provide you with an update. Otherwise chill the hell out. =P

I can't chill. It is too darn close. Also I need to know what the status is because it will take me a week to get my cash in order to pick it up.

Hi i am at the same point as you as of 3-4-09 "accepted by production control" it will up to date soon, as for you need a week for the $ As soon as you have a VIN you will have 1-2 weeks to get your $ Before Delvery.

Sweet, I just wish there was some reliable way that we could track this now without the dealership getting in the middle.
I am wondering if this so called "in progress" comment, means that my baby was born, and is being assembled over the next 4.x days????

NO!

All they do is get your information, put you on hold and call your dealer. I don't really know why they are there honestly. It's a complete waste of valuable funds.
