You can rattle can it, although I can't. I stink at painting, and not afraid to admit it! LOL

The cover doesn't get that hot. I used Krylon on mine, and it has lasted 2 years in Phoenix.

FreddyD,
ITS ALL UP TO YOU, THERE ARE SO MANY DIFFERENT OPTIONS AND DIFFERENT PAINTS YOU CAN USE TO GET IT DONE CORRECTLLY. THE REAL JOB IS THE PREP WORK, AND MASKING. IF YOU PREP REIGHT IT CAN TURN OUT REALLY WELL FROM JUST RATTLE CANS. BE SURE TO CLEAR IT. SEVERAL TIMES! BUT IF YOU ARE A NOVICE, ID PREFFER A SHOP. IMO BUT AS I SAID ABOVE, IT CAN BE DONE! GOOD LUCK!

Or get a spare engine cover off ebay and you can practice. If you are a novice and you send it to a shop you will always be a novice. This is a cheap mod, dig in!

Yeah, fuse box covers are like $5 or $6 bucks, def a good way to practice. I am learning how to airbrush to hopefully do my engine cover & the fuse box cover will be first. Rattle cans will def do the job and as said, painters tape and clear coat are the key.

Prep work is the key…
Be sure to use adhesion promoter ( find it in auto parts store)
This is what I used for my covers & strut tower brace
