Ive actually recreated this issue several times as my 14 ss acted up after i first purchased it I found in my case the shift linkage adjustment was slightly off causing it to not put pressure on the micro switch and then in turn not "unlocking the key" a easy way to tell if this is your issue is when you shift back to park do it nice and easy like you normally would if you have the issue BARELY start shifting back to drive then go back to park with just a little more oomph (dont go hulk on her) if yours then unlocks it could be things are just a little out of adjustment YMMV

Today while fueling my 2014 Camaro and older gent pulled up to the pump beside me. He also had a 2014 Camaro convertible. During conversation he too asked if I had any problems with my key getting stuck in the ignition. Told him I didn't, he further stated his issue appeared to be with only one of the two keys? I don't not use the replacement keys when the switchblades were removed. I purchased new blades and had GM cut them, zero ignition problems. I will continue to follow this topic JUST IN CASE!

Mine releases the key after I press the shifter button several times. So I'm not sure if it's the shifter or the entire shifter assembly. I hate that this happens.

I finally heard back from the dealer today (they’ve had my car since Tuesday morning). They are replacing the shift assembly - under warranty luckily.

I just got mine back from the dealer. They replaced part# 22894722. Wording reads “Tech replaced shifter assembly to correct concern”.

Thanks. I just don't have the means right now to see how it's done.
