Glad you dropped in Mlee. Think I met you at RPR when CamaroFest came to Houston.

The record I am after is that #1 spot on the M6 Fast List. Not sure how much longer the track will be tied up with flooded cars, but hopefully when it opens back up I will be in a position to give it a whirl and see what she will do.

Yeah, racing season is here and we need those cars out of there. I did read most of the thread and saw you were after that one. Now that I'm subscribed I hope to be there next time you run it. 9's with an M6 is killer.

Had no idea G-Force got flood waters but glad they've gotten past it. A dyno in the ground isn't something you can move very quickly. J-Rod and PowerFab both had cars in the upper 900's on stock bottom. Good tuners like Mike can definitely get these cars there.

Need to go with us to CamaroFest next year. Get some good Camaro Competition there.

There is NO WAY I could hang with guys like Rdunn.

Yeah, G-Force got about 2' of water in their shop. The new dyno is nice and they remodeled the shop office. Looks really nice.

When the track reopens I will make a post in this thread when I plan to make it there. I typically prefer a track rental such as though Texas Speed Syndicate, but all of their rentals through the end of the year are on Sunday so I wont go. Hoping they will have another on a Saturday early next year.

Mike and G-Force have always done me right and their work is second to none. They also come to the track to support their customers.

I have only really hit my new set-up through a couple of gears but let me tell you the old Maggie could run a 10.5 and it wouldn't hang with this ProCharger at all, except maybe off the line and through 1st but we will see. The change from 4.11 to 3.70 gears should really help the top end trap speed. G-Force says I have the power to run 9's and should trap about 145 ish . . . Time will tell

Well I got to drive the Camaro home from the shop today and the stutter/hesitation issue is definitely gone with the all the work the shop has done. I barely pressed into the accelerator to scoot through a yellow light and the car jumped like it a jack rabbit when shot in the butt with a pellet gun.

Need Input From You Guys

It was beautiful weather in south Texas on Thursday so after everyone had devoured their fair share of turkey, ham, and all of the fixings, I began getting requests for a few "fun runs" from folks.

1st Run - Definitely no stutter/hesitation when I nailed it. 1st and 2nd no problem, but when in 3rd and accelerating I think the clutch began slipping. Engine RPM's rolled up high but I felt a loss of acceleration, then RPM's rolled down and it caught and took on off. At the end of the run while decelerating there was a distinct burning smell.

2nd Run - I shut it off near the end of 3rd as I passed into 3 digit speed territory and the slippage was not as noticeable on this run but we got the burning smell again.

So here is where I need your input:

1. Is this indeed clutch slippage I am experiencing?

2. If I decide to wait a while before I change the clutch could it cause something else to be damaged or break?

Thanks guys!!

I know it's a crap question to ask, but did you have the nannies off? That exact description happened to my buddy in his M6, nannies on.

Assuming nannies off that is exactly what my 1st gen5 camaro did...got worse and worse, was absolutely the clutch in my case.

Only issue I had was that it was so bad It had trouble merging in traffic and could get dangerous. the heat can be an issue but only to parts you will probably replace anyways.

Ooh and slipping clutch can make you hit the limiter quick if you aren't careful, and those are all different sets of issues.

Sorry to hear, Good Luck man! Waiting for you to knock me down a spot on the fast list!!

Thanks for the feedback! For whatever reason, when I am driving on the street I hit the button twice which turns off traction control. For the strip, I hold the button down for 5 sec to turn everything off.

Funny thing about my experience is that I really felt the slippage on the front end of 3rd gear shortly after the shift. That seems odd to me!

I think the only list I am on is the M6 fast list, but I got it . . . you mean if I beat your 10.2 sec blast. The way things are breaking and with the track down due to the flood, your 10.2 may be safe a long time
