This is a message I received from Michael at Spa State Park. As you can see, the pavilions are released by a lottery drawing. I don't think we should wait too long on deciding if this BBQ is definite. Any suggestions??


Brian, all of the shelters in the park are available for daily rental through a lottery system. The applications will be available sometime in early January and we pick the lottery in early February. We can’t give rain dates because the pavilions are popular and that would essentially cut the rental season in half. The Ferndell Pavilion, although one of my personal favorites is not one of the most popular with our renters, so although I can’t guarantee it, I think you would have a very good chance in the lottery.

Rental Fees for the Ferndell are $150 per day, this does not include the Vehicle entrance fee, currently $8 per car.




I'm willing to send in a check if we are chosen, though I want to make certain we have enough people who commit and want to attend. And what we've done at the Baird BBQ is everyone volunteers to bring food/drink to the get together. Last year, for example, I brought hamburger rolls and chips. I didn't bring my car, so I could only pack so much stuff in my saddlebags.

I'm 10 miles south of Saratoga Springs, so I definitely vote for getting a pavilion at the Spa State Park.

Four more months of this crap weather and then we'll be anxious to get our cars out and have some fun!! I'm touching base with you all about having the Albany BBQ on August 6th.
Again, it will be held at Saratoga Spa State Park. We'll have our own pavilion, parking lot, bathrooms, etc. I'm starting to put a list together of how many people will attend.

Just to give an update, we also have a new club in this area, the Capital District Camaros. I believe 19 of this club will be attending.

I'm starting to need numbers of who will be attending so I can make the necessary plans. Come on you NastyZ guys (and girls), circle this date on your calendar, come on up/over/down whatever, meet new folks and have an enjoyable time.

We have received a reply from Saratoga State Park and they have verified the date is August 6th. We have the Ferndell Pavilion. What'll I'll start to do is put a list of things together we'll need to have done prior to the event. One immediate need is portable grills....who could bring them? There are some at the park in Ferndell, but I'm not certain how many. If you plan on attending, let me know asap.
