flowmaster mufflers

Hi all just joined your forum and I find myself reading this stuff for hours a day haha but I am thinking about putting on some flowmaster 40 series on my car. Right now I'm just doing the mufflers and that is it at this point. My question I guess is I see a lot of talk about inlet and outlet sizes. Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought on 2012 its 2.5? I dont think just installing mufflers would void my warranty? I'm just looking to give it a little deeper aggressive and louder sound right now. Any tips are greatly appreciated or even different mufflers? I would be doing more but seeing as the windchill in michigan likes to be at 9 degrees I will wait til spring before doing bigger mods lol.

Axle back should not void your warranty and the best axle back system I have heard for the LFX is the mrt v2. Welcome to the forum!

I've got Flowmaster "American Thunder" Series Cat Backs (3 Inch) and they sound great.

You will get drone in the 1800 RPM range but I do not mind at all.

I also got the American Thunder, love it, just under it saturday installing a sway bar, those mufflers being welded in did not help at all. just a pain. but got it done.

Man you have some will power!!! I have the 3" Flowmasters with the Super 40's mufflers and the drone is driving me bananas!!!

Will be installing some J-pipes to cure that problem, otherwise the mufflers sound great!!!

Yeh, clamp them in until you decide to upgrade your suspension. Then weld them up

i have the flowmaster 40 series. i like em, i dont even really hear the drone much now...im too used to it. but i really dont think its bad. one thing id say is if your getting the flowmaster, check with a local shop on how much it is to piece it together. as an axle back the flowmaster cost a bit, but all it is is 40 series with tips. so i found a shop that sells 40 series and bought some tips and i saved atleast 200 from the cost of the axle back plus install.

Yeah that's what I did today except I used the stock tips instead. Guy at the shop just cut them off the mufflers and welded them onto the 40s. Sounds awesome
