Trip to JRE
Last Tuesday I woke up early (3:30 a.m.)to make the trip to Jannetty's in Connecticut. It was about a 4 hour trip from upstate N.Y.
When I arrived the shop had just opened, right away I met Ted and the guys. What a great bunch of guys they are. Everyone (Ted, Kris, Al, Ted Jr., Nick and Nick, Joe ) was pleasant, friendly and very helpful in all my questions I had. Ted went over and beyond with answering all my questions and concerns, he even took the time from his already busy schedule to give me a tour of the shop, parts store, dyno and to introduce me to the other guys (installers ) ...also saw some pretty sweet rides. Well now for the reason for my visit. I was getting installed the 75rwhp tune kit he offers. The kit consisted of..... ... Rotofab intake ... ATI superdamper ... 10 percent lower ... New belt and Arp bolt ... X4 Sct device I also choose to have some new id850 injectors installed ....and finally the main reason for my trip was to get on the dyno, get a custom Ted tune that was spot on and get some numbers. My install was performed by one of Ted's top installers, Nick. Man Nick was a cool guy, easy to talk to and he was just the kind of guy you would want working on your baby. Nick was awesome though and did a great job with my install, he even corrected a factory problem I had going on. When starting my install he noticed that my cooling tube going into the blower was twisted and kinked, resulting in higher temps and over all loss of power. Ted and Nick were convinced that this oversight was done at production of the vehicle. Anyways it would of been something the idiot dealership would of never noticed or myself, so needless to say I'm very happy they corrected this. After my install we shortly got the car on the dyno and man Ted really shined here. Not only did he get my tune spot on, he took the time to explain many different aspects of what he was doing , such as fuel trims, afr , timing, etc... My ZL1 is a 2013 M6 and with just the mods above made a astounding 587 rwhp/565 rwtq , really exceeded my power expectations with just these few mods..... Overall my experience with Jre was an easy 10 out of 10 . I just wanted to give a shout out with this thread to Ted and the boys and let them now how overly happy I am with my cars new awesome power and there excellent service. I've been to other shops in the past and spoke with many of many vendors and this is one shop that I will 100 percent be returning too and doing business with .... Anyone on the fence about bringing there car there..... all I can say is I highly recommend this place, you won't be disappointed. Some pics... Ted does great work, I'm in Richmond, Va. I purchased the 75RWHP from him also and I installed the parts and loaded the tune. Ted and Nick have been great to work with over the phone and answer all questions and made sure I had the tune loaded correctly. Everything went flawlessly. I highly recommend.. Just wish he had a shop here in this area to add the other things I want to do this winter.. Jim

JRE all the way.
I have the same 4 hour ride. I dropped mine off and got a one way rental right down the street and drove home. A few days later I drove a one way rental back and picked up my ride. I have done this twice and will be doing it again as they are amazing just like you stated. Love the rims. Fun ride back, especially with the added power.

Awesome pictures!!! Thanks for the write up, for some of us guys who have not made the leap on serious mods seeing a first rate shop like this makes the process easier.
Enjoy your crazy powerful Z!

Thanks everyone for your replies. The car is just insane, so much more power, boost just feels incredible.
Couldn't imagine what it would feel like with 100-200 more to the wheels like some of these guys have. Sent from my SM-N900V using Tapatalk |

Super nice car and great numbers. Congradulations.
While I have never met Ted and the gang, I have spoken with Ted and Nick several times. I ordered the first round of my go fast parts from him and have dynatech headers and super cats on the way. Seeing your success makes me that more anxious to install my parts sooner, but have decided to wait until the headers arrive. I don't have the luxury of having Ted and the gang install for me because I am an expat living in Qatar. There is NO ONE here in Qatar I would trust doing this work, so I will do it myself. Ted has been great with questions and doesn't mind spending time with you on the phone to get things sorted. Great guy and a great shop, with a true passion for the same things I, and many others here hold dear, late model American muscle cars, namely the 5th gen. |
