Thanks! It was one of the reasons I decided to buy it, even though it is a no AC, no 6-speaker car.

Hello everyone, I've been lurking for about a year, then recently joined the forum. Two weeks ago I bought a new 15 Z/28 off the showroom floor in SC, flew to SC then drove it home to Wisconsin Memorial day weekend. This car is a blast to drive, I plan on tracking it locally at Road America, Blackhawk farms, Autobhan and drive it on the street. This is a great muscle/supercar!

Welcome! Another cross country adventure! Drove mine from TX to NJ, what a blast! Do you have any pics of your trip?

Thank you!
the Z is a White A/C car. I flew out to SC Friday, by the time we got the inspection done, me driving it and the paperwork done I left the dealership about 4pm then drove to the local Autozone to pick up a flat tire kit, stopped at fast food joint then finally got on the road it was about 5:30pm, the freeway was insane due to being Friday Memorial day weekend. WOW HY26 was literally bumper to bumper going about 20 to 30 mph at times! There were a few fender benders here and there, people not paying attention and running into the back of the car in front of them. ( I must admit I too was abit afraid of someone ramming in to me) I drove about 4 hours and stayed in a town called Waynesville, NC at a Best Western Smoky mountain Inn. Nice place that overlooked the Mountains. The next day I slept late, had a little continental breakfast, filled up the tank and continued my quest home, all along the trip I got thumbs up and at the gas stations it was, "Nice car" and "What kind of car is that?" Indy was busy due to the Indy500 and being the 100th inaugural and such. Other than that it was a nice trip home, I enjoyed it. The drive though the Smokey Mountains was fun in the Z and combined with the traffic of the weekend, the route, I'm confident it helped in the breakin of the motor (varying the RPM, downshifting to 4th,5th,etc.) . I checked every fill up, the car used no oil and got about 16.5 MPG! |
