1645 miles and power steering failure

I took my zl in cause after 3 times the power steering service light came on. they replaced the whole unit the service writer said the rack and pinion was what was replaced. did not cost a dime and all is good now.

Did it loose power stearing or just the light come on?

the light did come on and the car was hard to steer also the car is a 2013.what I did notice is every time the power steering light came on I was setting at a red light except for time I was waiting in a line at a drive thru.
