I was at the gym on a treadmill. I was listening to Howard Stern on the radio, and they were talking about it. It wasn't on any news channels at that time. So surreal.

I was a sleep with the then wife, mother inlaw called
and told us bout the first plane to hit. Our Tv at home
wasnt worth crap so we went to her work to watch it.

About noon i went home and got ready to go to work
at Stlouis International Airport. When i turned on to the
access road at the east end of the airport the road climbs up
hill and you can see the end of the runways. Knowing that they
had grounded all commercial traffic. It was so eary to see so many
planes sitting some it seems were even still on the RUNWAYS.
I was a Fleet Service Clerk for Trans World and that night and
several more nights we sat around or near some of the planes sitting.

I will never forget that day and i will also never forget 14 Sept 2001

Lost a few friends that day and a lot of fellow Americans.
RIP to all lost souls. :(

I was at work when I heard about it. Spent rest of day watching MSNBC.com. This was a very sad and tragic day.

Sadly I don't remember most of it. I was in the first grade in class when it happened and I was never told anything and didn't even know something had happened till way after the fact.

Working in midtown, I'm a vz tech. We were dispatched later on in the day to set up temporary communications. I've never seen such devastation. Pictures don't compare to what it was actually like. It was a horrible experience.

I was on Interstate 270 south bound in Maryland Heights, MO. Listening to the radio in traffic when the word of the first plane hit. I called my wife who was at home with our now 10 day old daughter and my mother who flew in from FL the night before. I woke them up and demanded they turn on the tv. I called my Aunt in Long Island and she could see the smoke from her home. I eventually made it to the office and we just sat and watched it all unfold on tv. The phones never rang that day, other than a company HR person telling us we could go home if we wanted. We didn't want to leave as no one knew what was next.
I called my grandmother in NJ and she was concerned for her neighbors who worked in tower 1. They made it home the next day, safe.
I've never forgotten nor will I ever. Honestly, I don't think I've even let my children see the video from that day still. Tonight may be a good time to do so.

Senior in high school and on the way to Ferris State University for a student competition. The bus stopped at a gas station so we could get some drinks, and when we were inside the attendant had it on tv and told us what was going on. Things were still unclear at that time, but when we got to the University it was on every TV and pretty much everything was cancelled for the day. Everyone was just watching it unfold, it was a very surreal type of day.

9/11 will never be forgotten, thank you to all who serve to keep this country safe!

I was coming out of Boston on way to Richmond. Va. I was driving tractor trailer at the time sitting in traffic as usual in N.Y.City.. Got on the c b radio to get info. for hold up and to see which lanes were clear to get thru. I happen to look up and saw 1 of the twin towers on fire and holly crap went thru my mind. Then all of a sudden I saw the plane go into the next tower and immediately got sick to my stomach. I was suppose to make a pick up on Canal Street just below the twin towers no more than 100 yards a way.I had made many pick ups there with wife & kids many of times. This is one thing in my life I will never forget where or what I was doing at the time. And still get up set seeing the pictures.

I was on a 757 flying from Denver to Dallas. Almost had to turn around and go back to Denver but the pilot talked them into letting us continue on to Dallas. When we finally landed was very wild seeing all the ACFT sitting on the ground and airport was like a ghost town. Took us two hours just to get to a gate because of all the ACFT sitting around with no place to go.
