My Friend Drove his 2013 Camaro 2SS w/ his CAI unplugged for 1000 miles. Pictures

Long story Short. I offered to instal instal his Airaid intake. My friend decided that he wanted to instal it with his dad. Next week we meet up and i look at the job. Absolutely terrible job. The Mass airflow sensor was loose and giggly. The intake Tube Was not put in properly. Worse of all he was in denial about the situation. I offered to fix it and presented my case and he declined.

He calls me up and said i have a check engine light going on. Can you check it out? I pop the hood and go "here is your problem" with an astonished look on my face. His CAI tube is unplugged and he looked at me with a straight face and said "it's not supposed to be like that?"

To my understanding he has been driving like this for a 1000 miles.
I included pictures of His tube prior to it falling out & after the tube fell out.

Too bad he didn't listen to you the first time. Hopefully not too much dirt got into the intake and the CEL will clear after you fix the intake. Maybe he will listen better the next time you give advice!

I was able to fix the problem this afternoon but after hours & hours of work, the Tube took 5 min to get back in place but there was a lot to do. I Don't think i can ever look at him the same ever again. Just had to share this post with Camaro 5 and Please always have work done by competent technicians or people that know what they been doing. I feel I saved his car's life.

That's pretty rock star. Maybe he should stick to paying people to work on his car.

A guy here put a turbo on an S2000 with no filter on the intake. Sucked up a microfiber towel. That actually didn't do it in. But later a bolt fell down in. Threw that turbo away and ordered another. Oh and he knew he needed a filter on it, just didn't care.
