question about supercharger whine

Hey guys I'm N/A at the moment but hoping in the very near future to supercharge or upgrade to a ZL1. I'm looking for a specific sound. The Vauxhall VXR8 Bathurst sound to be exact. I was just wondering the best way to achieve this sound with a camaro. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Have you heard a ZL1 with a rotofab intake? I think its fairly close. The Vauxhall has a very distinct sound but compared to the ZL1, I think its close.

Here are two video of the Vauxhaul and you can check my ZL1 and compare.

my ZL1 - my exhaust is fairly loud so you'll have to hear it as I am returning.

A few youtube video's

The whine is much louder due to the open CAI. Rotofab is one of the more popular options. I went open CAI so I can hear the whine.

Always reminds me of an RC car whine

Is the go pro mounted with the suction cup?

No. I put one of those sticky taped mounts dead center on the front splitter.

Whipple will give you that whine too .. not quite as loud though.

It's very prominent as it drives towards you under acceleration though.

will agree didn't notice the whine as much outside the car, until went to a smaller blower pulley, but to me whipple doesn't whine much out of the box, at least with my setup.

My SLP sc doesn't wind that loud. I can hear it on lower RPMs but once I get into WOT my exhaust overpowers all other sound haha.

I can't really speak for the comparison to the other vehicle, but I can tell you that with nearly every single ZL1 owner I have spoke with who has added our CAI, the first thing they say to me about it is how the Supercharger whine is so much more audible, and how great it now sounds. Even with the CAI adding over 20 whp to a stock ZL1, the S/C whine is what they go on and on about to me 9 out of 10 times, which I always found pretty cool, and a little surprising to be honest. Good luck with your mods!

Sorry but I can’t help but laughing at the muff stains with a Ken Bell blower. They always sound like someone is letting air escape a balloon.
