Gas Mileage in Canada

My fellow Canadians,

I'm looking @ purchasing a 2014 2LT 3.6L V6 engine in the next couple of months. For any Canadian who reads this, could you please tell me how much do you spend to fill up your gas tank and at what cost per litre. Do you fill up when the gas tank is completely empty or when its 3 quarters empty?

Thanks!

So what is the gas price/litre in your area? How much does it cost you to fill up is what I'm asking.

In Hamilton, it's about .98/litre. So it would probably cost me just under $71 to fill up the tank completely.

I havent driven my car since I parked it for the winter in October/November of 2014 and gas was still ~1.37/L for regular. I always put in 93/94 and it was ~$1.55+/L and it would routinely cost between $90-100 to fill up from empty and last ~450km's worth of shit-eating grins (DIC shows 14.3L/100 average).

Does that help? Thats with the 6.2L LS3 with bolt-ons.

Yeah that helps a lot.

With a 3.6L V6 engine, I'm sure I won't be spending as much on gas as you were with the 6.2L engine. The smaller engines do have a better fuel economy.

Also , with the LLT V6 engine (which I have), you can use regular

You should check your owner's manual...you will have the LFX V6 engine...to see if regular is the recommended fuel.

Alright, I'll look into it or else ask the dealership prior to purchase. I'm getting the vehicle in April or May so I still have some time. I just wanted to get a feel of what I'm getting myself into.

I filled up tonight.. the low fuel warning went off.. took $65 of regular. LFX doesn't need anything more than that. Average L/100KM recorded over 35,000KM is 10.8. I do a lot of Toronto 401 - so sit a lot.. and have winters on now...

I put three tanks a week into it.. maybe 2.5.

LFX takes regular fuel. I spend about 100 per month but I like to cruise around a lot for no good reason. Also like to be a bit heavy on the throttle off a redlight so just take that into consideration.

I average about 11.5L/100km in all my travels.

But really though, no matter V6, V8 or supercharged V8... you ain't buy this car for the fuel economy!

If you have to ask, than maybe this is not the car for you, even as a daily driver.
Yes, the V6 will be somewhat more fuel efficient that the V8, but it also depends on your driving habits.

Back when I had a bolt-on llt I had between 15 and 17.X L/100km, no less.

that's worse than my current ls3

I am running 13.5ish. I fill about every 11 days with just under 1/4 tank left.

They really truly don't.

Ive had my camaro since June 09 and all our local SS buddies would laugh at my MPG lol This v6 thinks its a V10

If I milk it, and I mean milk it, I get 440km for a full tank. Key word, milk.

If I drive it like I stole it, I can burn half a tank in an hour (ALOT LESS sometimes)
