I'll check mine in 3-4 months. Right now it's covered and buried under 10 inches of snow.

Good reminder. Man I screamed on here for the longest time that there were 6 and not 4 nuts. Yes, loctite them!!!

Did you have the dealer do the service update (09207A) for the HVAC/Engine Harness/Rear spoiler fasteners? I'm pretty sure they install the loctite then

Does anyone know if this was an issue that was eventually corrected at the factory. I remember seeing several discussions about this, and even a recall issue, but that was all prior to my build date (10/19/09). I haven't looked at mine yet. I will just to be safe, but I would be surprised if they weren't already addressing at the factory.

At that time, I checked mine- they were loose- and I re-tightened them myself. Just for shits and giggles, I checked them again last night- now roughly 3 months later. Three of them were loose again. It is simply not enough to re-tighten them for those of you who did. An option such as loctite or nylon-insert nuts (or gorilla gluing the stud and nut like I now did) is required to stop them from loosening up again. I'm assuming they loosen up simply because of the vibration forces coupled with expansion and cooling of the studs and nuts as the temperature changes.

In any case, simply an FYI for us do-it-yourselfers who didn't take the extra step.

oh, and...
Merry Christmas (slightly in advance)

Same to you and yours, Trent!!!...

My husband had been checking and checking those bolts every time he washed my car for months and months...he kept forgetting to buy the locktite until 'lo and behold', at over 3000+ miles, one got away....

Now, every time I open and close the trunk, I hear that little spoiler bolt rattling around...lol...it's no big deal because you cannot hear it while driving...

We will have the dealer 'retrieve it'' next time we bring it in...

BTW, we consider the loose spoiler bolt a 'badge of honor', because it identifies our car as R6P, since the early VINs were the only ones affected...lol...'gotta look at the positive'...lol...

When you tighten up the nuts are there still threads exposed on the studs? how about double nutting them? An old trick but it works...

Yes, they could be double-nutted.

I replaced mine with nylon locking nuts when I had the stripes put on, I believe they are M6. Saw the size in a previous post a few months back but can't find it right now.
