Me. Order wouldn't go through quick order Sat morning. I was right there with the rep. They will call GM contact person who they always call when placing these type of orders to make sure everything is correct, then order will be finalized. This was supposed to have been done today. I called this morning and they said they were working on it as we spoke, and I would get a call back. No word back yet.

Just saying.. its not rocket science....
If I can place a billion dollar order for cisco in 5 min I bet I could order a car from a unknown system a lot faster...
Haha...billion dollar order from Cisco in 5 min. Place more of these. Need the stock to climb.

I placed a deposit but my dealer didn't get allocation so I haven't been able to order. I had another dealer where I placed a deposit and they got 1 allocation. That allocation went to the owners friend that didn't have a deposit down.

Needless to say, I will never do business with that dealer. Yes the owner has rights, I get all that but I also have the right to decide where I want to conduct my business.

The sales manager I'm still working at the first dealer has been extremely honest with me and told me not to give up. Worst case, i will have to be patient and wait for 2013. If that the case so be it.
I have purchased (1) 2011 SS convertible, (1) 2011 SS coupe, (1) 2012 45th 2LT/RS and (1) silver 2LT/RS in 6 months from the same dealer. Unfortunately, they didn't get allocation so I couldn't place an order for a 5th Camaro.

Let's just say, I will keep the faith that something will turn up since in 2012 or 2013.

The dealer in VA gave the allocation away. The dealer I purchased 4 camaro's from is in Chapel Hill, NC. Just want to clarify that a bit. The dealer in VA doesn't know I purchased 4 cars from CH so I expect shenanigans from VA. I'm not even sure I can say if I purchased 4 cars from the VA dealer if that would have made a difference with the ZL1 allocation.

I went to order this morning, my dealer wants to wait until all the options (exposed carbon hood and the suade package) that I want show in the system before he submits the order. Any idea when this will happen?

Lol and I thought I was the only one being lied to.... The greedy dealers near me all want ADM and they don't even know MSRP. They are not even considering placing customers orders unless specified that you are willing to pay over the sticker. As one dealer put it to me I will just order my one allocation to my specs and wait for a customer to buy....

I would suggest listening to the wisdom of many folks on C5 and don't get sucker punched into paying over MSRP. Your car is going to depreciate as soon as you buy it. You will inherit negative equity in a car that is already a poor investment purchase. It's for fun and enjoyment. Folks that sit on a cash cow don't really care about MSRP. I can speak for myself and could easily pay over MSRP and my wife has already told me to "just do it" if I really "want" my car. Unfortunately, the car is a want, not a need, and I can't stomach paying a markup on a car I just want to have. Patience is a virtue, and sometimes the bull justs gets us and we have to wait until 2013. Don't get suckered into something you will regret in 6 months.

For those wondering why I have 4 camaro's.

Same thing happened to me! I was told they will be getting 6 allocations for 2012 my, 3 special order and 3 for the public. I got # 1, I was told their system would be up tomorrow. I check my options off like everyone else but the computer would say error. I gave a 15k deposit so I hope I'm safe.

I'm in the same boat. And even if I decided to purchase out of state I'm still a couple of grand over MSRP. If the ZL1 was expected to be super limited in production numbers I would be willing to pay the extra. But since that is not the case I don't mind waiting. My only chance now for a 2012 is if MSRP comes out to be low 60's and somebody backs out. In which case I will buy a coupe.... But I really have my eye set on a Carbon Edition convertible now

I get to order on Nov 10th. My dealer only gets so many camaros a month to order and his next allocation day is then. His last one was 10 camaros and he ordered all 10. He said on the 10th he will get his allocation and call me. he said we could do the whole thing over the phone, that I didn't even have to come in. He said "so you got plenty of time to pick your color and all your options". This seems to go hand in hand with a post from somebody on how the ordering works with GM. They got 7 ZL1 allocations and he has been very knowledgable on everything going on. He called me on the 24th to tell me what he got allocation wise and that I was still #3 on the list.
