I think I'm going with the Contis and just leave them on all year. I'm not sure I'm up to swapping wheels and/or tires with the change of seasons. In KY we change seasons about 12 times per year.

Friends:
Hi - my first post! I had a 2011 GT500 SVTPP w/ the F1 G:2 tires. Also added the Ford Racing Super Pak (750hp/719tq at the crank). Live in the St. Louis area, and have no garage. Let it sit when it was 35 or below, drove it v-e-r-y carefully from about 35-45 degrees. Traction is hard to come by, but driving is manageable if you behave yourself. Seemingly no adverse impact on the tires. |

I regularly drove mine in temperatures between 32Ί - 45Ί during the end of the fall this year. A couple of the days were wet, too...but as long as you're smart, and conservative with the go-pedal until the tires are warmed up, they'll do absolutely fine! But....once the temperature hits 20Ί or lower, I wouldn't drive it at all...and in any event, you'd need to wait for a full 24 hours of warmer temperatures before driving the car, or you might damage the rubber, per Goodyear. I know there's a lot of hesitation with these tires, and even more sour grapes before the car was out because of the Previous generation Supercar tires' reputation on the Corvette. But I'm a huge proponent of the tires after living with them for 8000 miles, especially for ZL1s. They're awesome!! |

The problem with that plan is you never know when things will go sideways and you need traction to avoid situations or make an abrupt stop. I do not see the logic in driving these cars like you are on eggshells. You are better off parking it in cold temps.

I do think I'm going to have to pull the trigger on these.

I didn't have to drive it on eggshells...just leave an extra car-length and it never skidded or shimmied on braking, even in stop-and-go...not once. There is no black-and-white: yes you can drive "now", but not "now"...and there comes a time in the gray area that the car can no longer be driven safely in the cold weather, with these tires. Until you get to that point...it's fine, and you just need to be a little more aware of what you're doing. That's all I was trying to say. |

You would have been okay if you're smart, which I'm sure you are.

Those sizes are not available in the ExtremeDWS. The only sizes that are appropriate are listed in the PDF file. See the thread below.
