Got the rack, tie rods, and a new cell.

Rack is flaming river part number FR1507-2
Tie rods are flaming river part number FR1603

Fuel cell is a jegs brand 5 gallon. Part number 555-15384

The steering rack is a universal omni rack, it had close to the same dimensions and mounting as the factory one. I will most likely still need to make new mounts. This one does have a longer pinion so hoping i dont need to make an intermediate shaft.

Dropping to the 5 gallon cell to save some weight. I always had the 16 gallon cell full when I ran the car. So the math would be roughly 72lbs saved.

Thank you!

Got the centers of the k members cut out, will definitely need new mounts, and an intermediate shaft. Will be picking up a few fittings to clean up the vacuum pump hoses.

Slowly coming together though

Thanks man! I'm gonna try my best to have it completed and making good passes before then!

Got the new rack tacked in. Need to get the passenger side mount made yet.

The tie rod ends I had purchased will not work. The factory ones have a stud that's about twice as long as a typical one. I'm going to rethread the factory ones to a 9/16x18 and they'll go right on the rack

Got some more parts in.

Radiator and fan combo- csf part# 7065. This thing is tiny!
Steering shaft, 2 universals(one for in car is the wrong size), and the passenger side steering rack mount
Picked up a 9/16-18 tap, threads into the factory tie rods with ease and threads right into the new rack.
Have a 1" od, .250 wall aluminum tube coming for the adjuster on the passenger side
6" 9/16 stud from mcmaster to thread into tie rod and adjuster on passenger side.

Thinking that's about everything as of this time. Been a lot of thinking and figuring involved in this to say the least

Must be a drag strip only radiator at that size. Should work well for track only car and save some weight too. You gonna run a manual switch to the fan for staging? I bought the PCM of NC manual fan switch harness for my car and I could not be happier when staging or stuck in slow traffic on hot days. Course I’m on OEM ECU and I’m guessing your probably going with a full stand alone now?

Loving the build your doing and happy your sharing all the steps and progress too! I got the COPO build book for Christmas but man watching your build is just amazing! Not sure if you did yet or know but, There are a few sections underneath the car that can be cut out to if your gonna keep it track only or straight lining. I can put the info up for you from the copo book if ya need anything. Keep up the great work!

Thank you! Yes, going for straight drag now. I've been on aftermarket standalone for a while now. Fan is just on a toggle

Got the steering column all made, adjuster all made. Figured out the hard way that I bought a rear steer rack, turn the wheel to the left and it goes right

Will be taking that back and replacing it with a mustang 2 rack.

Started making coolant lines and prepping radiator to mount as well.

Posted the current turbo up for sale on fb. If it sells I'm gonna upgrade to the midwest ball bearing 108mm gt55

Radiator mounted. Hose made for fill. Just need a few fittings for the feed line. Going to jegs monday to return the rack, get the new, and get a few more odds and ends

Cut the motor plate up some more. Decided to do down and forward on the headers now. Got with robert ette and got the belts coming for the accessories

Started making panels for the firewall. Will be making the panel that covers the back of the motor removable to make easy access to trans bolts. Will also use this to mount all my electronics/wiring to. Will make it easier to wire everything outside of the car.

Haven't really messed with the car much in the past week or 2. Made a big purchase for it though. Ditching the hi ram and got with the guys at gpi have a cid intake made not listed.

With the elbow on the new intake, it will be around 6 inches taller than the hi ram.

Got the new mustang rack all welded in and aligned. Steering shaft fits nicely around everything.

Finished plumbing my coolant lines and added a third mount for it. Super solid, doesnt move one bit.

Got the fuel pump drive and belt all bolted up. Tucks nicely around everything.

Going to pick up a new alternator. Powermaster part# 8012. The one on the car now is a 10si case, the kit was designed around a cs130 which is a smaller body.

New fuel filter showed up and its massive. Aeromotive part number 12339. Its compatible with alcohol and 10 micron.

Got the throttle body elbow ordered. Its Holley part# 300-253. Also picked up the tick performance burst panel spacer. Its 2.375" thick.

Hi ram height was 12.32" tall according to their website
New intake combo will be roughly 18.3 tall. Really hoping to clear a hood but it's not looking good.
