Still in the ZL-1

After 2 months of looking and researching, I passed on getting a 2017 C7 in favor of keeping the 2014 ZL-1. The deals were getting crazy and it made a little sense financially to switch, however, in the end after driving and looking, it really wasn't much of an upgrade in my opinion. In reality, I lose 2 seats I can put kids in and gain gas mileage and a better interior. Performance wise, they felt similar. The C7 didn't make the ZL-1 feel like less of a beast. I wanted to share that with anyone that may be on the fence about a similar switch. Everyone's opinion and situation is different, but in my case, the ZL-1 is still tough to beat.

The ZL1 is a helluva car. No doubt.

I'd only look at a C7 Z06/07 or a 17' ZL1...if I was looking at trading in....period

Kinda where I am at too. I have test driven C7 Z51 cars couple of times. Even had the opportunity to drive a new C7 Z06, and for what very little I did drive it, it felt pretty much the same as my ZL1, for about $50K more. Love the look, and feel of the C7's....but my knees are hard up against the drivers tunnel no matter where I put the seat. I think I will be watching to see how the 17 ZL1's play out...after the gotta have it now crowds are thru holding the prices up at MSRP and above.

The C6 is a superior car to the C7 Z06 in interior ROOM (Not quality but the C6s have more room), the C7 Z06 I drove felt like I was in a tissue box, high sides, bulky trim, narrow tunnels. This is why I'm considering getting a C6 ZR1 over a '17 ZL1 too.

Vette's are just to small for me and uncomfortable...So I'm certain I'll have the ZL1 for life, but may buy something else along the same line in the future...

That's why my midlife crisis car is going to be a ZL1. I was told I had to grow the obligatory mullet. True?

So many in my area as well. Everyone seems to have one, but have not seen one ZL1 in my area

It's kind of a shame that this is true because it scares off a lot of people that could afford the car and just don't because they don't like the gray haired golfer Vette driver image.

I for one am under 30 but I'd buy a Vette in a heart beat. Several of my buddies have ZR1s and C7 Z06s, some on their tab, some off of other's *ehem*, and I don't think that it's awkward for a younger person to own a Vette. I'd buy one.

I drove a C7 Z06 and I creamed my pants with the performance difference. I'm sure the base model C7's are similar to a stock 5th gen ZL1, but comparing a SC ZL1 to a SC Z06, it's night and day.
