V6 Top Speed

This has most likely been covered...bu, I haven't seen it. What is the top speed of a 2010 V6 Camaro? Whats the fastest you guys have had yours up to and how did the car react to the high speeds...Me, I've only had mine up to 120mph ...she got up there pretty quick too!

I believe the top speed of the V6 Camaro (20'' wheels) is electronically limited to around 155- 158 mph. My guess is that's pretty close to the actual top speed of the Camaro. Car and Driver or Motortrend reported getting a V6 Camaro up to something like 158 or 159 mph.

The Camaro SS's top speed is also electronically limited to 155-158 mph, with an actual top speed most likely near 175 mph (give or take a few mph).

My v6 has seen 155mph on the dyno, and that is indeed where it is limited. On the street? i dunno for sure, I'm sure it can get there if it wanted too, lol!

well they all suppose to be limited to 155mph.
but i think was motortrend got V6 to 157mph before limiter kicked it.
V8 limiter kicked in at 155mph on them

this sucks for dyno'in them. speed limiter kicks on before u hit redline in 4th gear.

You fellas should come out here to the prairie. There is a 45 mile long stretch of perfectly flat, perfectly straight blacktop. There is one section that has no crossroads for 6 miles. All you need to watch out for is deer and pheasants. Of course, you will want to have a donut with johnny law first to discuss the whole thing. If you work it right, he will even run the 6 miles down the road and block oncoming traffic for you.

Starting from 65 mph your stock SS will hit the limiter in well under a mile. It is a surprisingly smooth and hassle free cruise at 150. Also, if you buy a car off the lot, remember that it may have been well tested.

camaro v6 top speed

Just out of curiosity (after reading all the posts about the top speed of a
2010 camaro V6)... I drove mine on a remote stretch of I-80 east of Reno on a sunday morning at about 6 am and got it to 132 mph before backing off on the gas pedal. Mine is a 2LT with 19 inch wheels and 245ZR19 tires.

I think the LS and the 1LT models are electronically limited to 118 mph by GM at the factory due to the 18 inch wheels and the non z rated tires. Based on trudawg660's posted specifications on this forum on 3/16/2009, the V6 with 19/20/21 inch wheels with z rated tires will be limited to 155 mph, all SS with 20/21 inch wheels with z rated tires will also be limited to 155 mph.

Does anyone know the source of the publication that trudawg660's posted on 3/16/2009 about the top speed of 2010 camaros?

I have a 2011 LS and it was stopped at 118 mph w/ 18 in. tires. Took it up on a long flat stretch of highway with no traffic.

183 is the top speed on a stock SS.
